Is anyone else out there going for the December 1 deadline on merit awards?

My daughter's friend is applying to Rochester on EA and asking for merit aid. I don't know what here GPA was , altthough I know it is very good, but she did get an overall 33 on the ACT,which I think is equivalent to a 1500 on the SAT.

heeeeeeere! =]

You had better believe it, son. ;)

Thanks everyone! Let's keep in touch through the process. Son's app is in but we're still waiting on scores and such to surface.

im going for that, expect i somehow missed that the deadline is dec 1...i thought it was like jan 15 like the regular apps (stupid me). i just saw the deadline...thank god for thanksgiving weekend.

I am :) May as well at least give yourself the chance of getting some merit money...anyone know how generous Rochester is? I know some schools typically give out a ton of merit money while others are pretty frugal.

Does the 12/1 deadline for merit aid require that all of your credentials have been submitted ? This includes all HS documents, scores, and common app + supplement.

I am not sure. You might want to call. They have been very helpful on the phone. In one case, they had son fax some information to them and said that the "official" copy could come in after the deadline.

SAT/AP scores do not need to be in by the December 1st deadline. I just called a few minutes ago.

Are the last scores they're accepting for SAT December's?

LIVE,
U of Rocheste is fairly generous with many students getting merit aid.

The UR application website had a few problems when my son used it. Believe all that is worked out. Regarding merit aid at UR...I told a guy in admissions during Fall Into Rochester that I had heard of a typical 10K merit award for a SAT above 1350 (or around there, I think). Asked him if that is true...he said, "That used to be the case, but we changed it a year or two ago because we decided it didn't make sense to give 10K for a 1350 SAT and zero for a 1300." So I asked him how it works now...and he said, "It's all over the place...meaning that virtually anybody can get anything from zero to full tuition."
