wow good job with the positive trend and acceptance, but i still think all of just had a good chance.

i also had continuous research experience since my freshman year. in fact our lab will soon have a segment on NBC titled Alternative medicine. i've worked at this hospital for the longest time and since it was a pretty selective program they called it an "internship". ill admit though, it was crap but still selective to get in. i gave my essay to one of my dad's friends who was a high school principal, ucla grad and current school board member and he was blown away. so good in fact he wrote me a LOR without me asking and it submitted it anyways - knowing ucla will not read it. im also in a fraternity and several clubs.

i just hope the main reason for my rejection is that i went over the unit limit. i doubt that they even looked at my alt major.

hey endersgame, good job man, i'm prouda you, we should have a celebration, you getting in and me getting rejected LoL, OVT AT 12 TOMORROW?! haha just kidding
but in all seriousness good job man, you planning on going to ucla now?

Hahah!! I miss living on campus :(. Randomly hitting OVT late at night with suitemates (I'm from Marshall) are some of the best memories of my first year.

I am undecided right now. I never really considered LA, I just applied in case I changed my mind. If I decide to transfer, I'll probably go to Cal. As of right now, I'd stick with UCSD over UCLA :)

LOL, i live off campus as well costa verde WOO WOO,

Lol, have you visited cal before? i'm from norcal, i live like 30-40 min from cal, just my opinion though, but i hate cal :(, the campus sucks, and the people are weird lol, make sure you check it out before you go if you decide to go, just some friendly advice :) but yeah ucsd pride woo!

I'm from norcal also! I've visited Berkeley a few times. I'll definitely hit it up, take a tour, get a better feel for the academics, etc before I make up my mind. Either way and either school, though, I'm sure the education will be great :)

Everyone lives in Costa Verde! Does it ever get loud? I remember the walls being thin. I live near University Woods, right by Vons. I take the shuttle to school, hahahaha.

yeah for cal, what i hear from most of my friends who go there it's sort of a hit it or miss it kinda thing, you either love it or hate it haha, and yeah for sure education will be no problem for either school :D

lol it's not too bad actually, i have pretty good neighbors (luckily) haha, so you're at the 2nd arriba stop right? lol i feel bad sometimes when we just drive right by when the shuttle's full and everyone at the 2nd and 3rd stop just stare at it haha, but hey you guys are better than the 3rd stop at least, they almost neve get on haha

Hey do you guys know if the UC to UC transfers need agreements before it is even possible? Like for ex. You think i would be able to transfer from UCR to UCLA in chem? Thanks.

I'm at UCR and I got in UCSD, UCD, and UCI. There's no special agreement; all you do is complete the UC application like everybody else.

One thing you should take into account is completing breath requirements. Basically, it's highly suggested that you complete UCR's breath requirements for your major within the first 2 years and then you get your counselor to request a "UC Reciprocity" letter that then exempts you from another UC's breath reqs.

You will also have to complete pre-reqs for your prospective UCLA or Cal major cuz they are hardasses in seeing that you complete their own pre-reqs.

you have to check with the school like for example i know cal doesn't take some majors as transfers, so just check with the school, it's the best and most reliable way to go

I applied to berkeley from davis, and i was accepted as a poli sci major even though my major is biochem. Yes, you just need to complete the pre-reqs and GE requirements. (It won't hurt if you can start some upper div stuff, i think that helped me as well.)

notsogood: are you asking about the "bobcats to bears" or "bobcats to bruins" thing? i know last year a lot of people said they were accepted into some sort of program where if they attended UCM for one year, they'd have guaranteed to acceptance to either LA or Berkeley (some requirements of course). i haven't heard much of that this year. i haven't heard of any program for UCR either.

if you're really curious, go to the UC website and look for the transfer FAQ pdfs. don't take my word for it though--skimming through those pdfs may end up fruitless since they were intended for CCC students.
