Have any of you guys been accepted yet? A lot of my friends have been accepted already but that was only because they are top 20 in the class, SAT's above 1800, etc.

I have a 3.9 weighted GPA with a 1700 SAT score, and tons of extra curriculars. Anyone similar been accepted?

i was accepted, 3.8gpa weighted and 1860 sats into nursing which is the most competitive major. However since Penn State mostly looks at GPA, I’d say you’re definitely in and should be hearing very soon. I have a friend who got in with i think a 1760 SAT already but she has an amazing GPA.

I applied in the end of September and I heard back…on the 29th online. As I said before my stats were only 3.8W and 1860, however I had some other things that looked good like a 5 week hospital shadowing program for over 100 hours, I toured the nursing department and made a private appointment with someone there to talk about it last spring break, a really good essay.Things like that!

I wouldn’t worry if you havn’t heard back though, they say most people hear back in January!

I applied to the college of engineering with a 3.8 W GPA and 1830 SAT. Are my chances of getting in okay??? I applied all the way in October so this wait is killing me, still no signs of anything. Really just want to know already!

I haven’t heard back yet either and i have really similar stats to yours…had an SAT score of 1710 and my GPA is a weighted 4.0. I’ve been told by others that I will probably hear back towards the end of the month but who knows :/

hey guys, I recently applied to Penn State undergrad and upon checking my “mypennstate” account yesterday, I noticed that my picture had changed to the Nittany Lion with a box below it explaining the 2+2 program and how all the other campuses are great. This scared me because from what I’ve read on this site, the picture change to the Nittany Lion seems to mean you’ve either been deferred or denied and I was wondering if there was anyone who has experienced otherwise and if not, what would be the major with the lowest stats or highest admissions to get into UP being that it doesn’t matter at first what major i get into, I will obviously eventually transfer into my intended one (keep in mind that I applied DUS on my app), thanks!

I had a 3.4 unweighted gpa when I applied (3.36 by the end of senior year). I’m not sure what my weighted gpa was because my school never released that information, but my ACT was a 27. I wrote really good essays and had lots of extracurricular activities. I got into college of communication. I’m not sure about college of engineering, but i’m sure you guys will be fine. If worst comes to worst, go into DUS and switch into college of engineering or whatever you want. PSU is really lenient with switching colleges. Advisors here are nice for the most part.

1490 sat
3.1 gpa
Accepted to Smeal
I had really good extracurriculars and have attended one of their camps
Also over 80% of seniors at my school go there
