When you’re signing up for classes, do you have to rush to get the classes you want, or can you take your time to plan everything without having the classes that are in high demand fill up? How many people usually sign up for classes at one time?

@rawrrawr I usually just plan out what classes I want in the class planner on tritonlink. That way you can schedule how you want them to look like. I also make a backup schedule just in case the first one doesn’t work out. Then when enrollment time comes, I just plug in the numbers in order to enroll. If you take your time to plan on the time of your enrollment, other people will enroll while you plan.

thanks xpenguin!

I second what xpenguin said - when your enrollment time hits it’s most effective to know the class numbers so you can quickly enter them in.

Hello, incoming sophomore here -
A question about the BILD 1, 2, and 3… it might be silly but…
Those three classes are required for my major, but do we have to take them in that order? I know BILD 1 has to be taken before BILD 2. But BILD 3 doesn’t have a prerequisite from what I see in the UCSD website so I plan to take it this Fall. Can I register for BILD 3 without having to take BILD 1 and 2?

Yes, you can take bild 3 without taking bild 1 and 2.

Thanks xpenguin!
Another thing too… I want to take this upper-division sociology class but its prerequisite is that we have upper-division standing. I’m only a sophomore right now, credit-wise (I’m fresh out of HS). Can I still register for that class? After fall, I will be a junior and I took a transferable Intro to Sociology class at a cc - which counts as intro to sociology as well in UCSD… if that helps.

^If a prereq for a class is UD standing, you have to have 90 completed units to sign up for it.

Hi everyone,
I am going to be a freshman at ERC this year, I’m out to register for classes, and I wanted your help. I am for sure taking MMW 1 and French 1C, but I still have 2 more classes to fill. Any suggestions? I was thinking about taking Intro to Logic and Intro to Acting, and wanted to know if those classes are interesting or easy. Also, what teachers should I choose?

Thanks

For teachers, I suggest looking them up on ratemyprofessor.com

@nicholep Are you undeclared?

Hi, I’d like to know how hard the 5-unit language classes are, such as Spanish or Chinese. Do they require a lot of time both inside and outside the class?

I know stupid question but, How do I sign up for classes if I have orientation in September?

@diablonecros: language classes are very time consuming from my experience.

@Adrenalinejunkie: every freshman is assigned a random registration time during the last week of August. You can check for your time on Tritonlink when they are posted. When your assigned time arrives, you go online and register for classes via WebReg.

@AdrenalineJunkie Your college advisers will also suggest classes for you before you register.

Hey, I’ll be taking the Spanish Language Proficiency Exam in September. I was wondering what the test is like? Is it hard? Multiple Choice?

Hi everyone,
I posted this on one of my other threads, but maybe you guys cab help me too. I’m in ERC and I’m taking MMW 1 In the fall. I was wondering if you guys thought it would be better to take harder GE’s my first quarter b/c MMW1 I the easiest and easy ge’s when I take MMW 2&3

^Ok seriously is it necessary to double post every question in every thread? :/

Sorry about all the double posting. I just want to get as much info from as many people as possible so I can get the classes I want. Also I have to work all weekend so I’m under a time constraint.

Hey guys,
I had a question about when freshman register for classes. I thought it was August 2, but then I read that, that was when we make appointments with our academic advisers, so I’m confused. Please help.
