oh I see. If anything, though, I’m going to do either the freshman seminar or one PofC class.

This might sound like a weird question, but what is the policy and proper etiquette on going to the bathroom during class? Is just walking out rude? Do you raise your hand (although I think announcing that you have to go pee pee is a little embarrassing in front of 200 people)? I know you should always go before class but I have a small bladder and often find myself having to urinate in the middle of a discussion.

make sure to sit in the aisle, close to the back, and make a quiet exit without disturbing anyone.

kinda like at the movies …

Do you have to enroll in the classes your counselor recommends? Or can you enroll in any classes you want?

(I’m an incoming freshman)

Hey how is the greek life?

they’re reccomendations, not requirements.

What can/do we do with left-over dining dollars?

buy appliances at earls or other stores or just stock up on food. I heard they have this transferring points to other people but I haven’t seen it yet.

you can’t technically transfer to people. but last year hdh let people sell dining dollars to other people for a cheaper price. like 100 dining dollars for $50. and the $50 went straight to the student with the extra dining dollars. (but you can’t charge like 5 cents because hdh has to approve the cost first).

I got a $160 bill on my account recently (as of Aug. 26th) for orientation. Kind of stupid how they let me go for free, then decided to bill me now… -_-

Anyways, there doesn’t seem to be a “due date”. Does anyone know how long they give me before late fees occur? Or can I just wait it out until I get financial aid so I can pay it like that?

Thanks.

Everyone else get $3,134.00 as their education fee (this excludes all the other fees which adds up to like $4000) ? $500-600 up from Spring T_T

Are there any Visual Arts classes that we can’t take for our PofC/Area Study courses for Warren? I saw a few classes I’d consider like photography or something but I don’t know if there is some kind of list as to what courses we’re supposed to take

@spacedog
To my understanding, just make sure you follow the prereqs (if there is any), and you’ll be fine.

@marking yup…

about public transit in LJ/SD:
how easy is it to get to say, the La Jolla Whole Foods by public transportation? since i’m not bringing a car, I’d like to know what my approximate range is via public transport without it getting inconvenient (many transfers, 20+ minute ride). Please specify some landmarks, ie. Fashion Valley, Blacks Beach, etc. Thanks!

sdcommute.com will tell you everything you need.

@92faim: SUPER EASY. I’d actually discourage anyone from bringing a car for freshman year with the parking cost & no parking space anyway.
Just take the 201 (bus stop at gilman parking structure, near sixth college) once and you’ll be at La Jolla village (Whole Foods, Radio Shack, Chase&BoA banks, TGIF, BJs, Staples, Chipotle, etc) in less than 5 minutes. You can take the 202 across the street that goes in the opposite direction that leads straight to UTC for shopping. Fashion valley is pretty hard to get to without a car but UTC is pretty big and has a decent amount of stores.
Make sure to get you bus stickers on your IDs to use the public transportation for free!

you can also take the nobel campus shuttle which leaves from mandeville next to muir

But bringing a car can’t be that bad can it… lol I’m bringing my car as a freshman, I don’t want that to be a mistake or something

^No, I think having a car in La Jolla is 100% NECESSARY, since public transportation is inconvenient and takes forever to get anywhere (like 40+ minutes to fashion valley). I loved having my car freshman year.

This is just my opinion though.
