^
I can’t answer that because I have no knowledge about UC Davis, but you’re honestly tripping, lol. I’ve already said my two cents, good luck to you!

PS-GPA is probably not as important as you think, it’s more along the lines of what you have been doing throughout your undergrad years (research, internships, strong letters of recommendation).

To IndieRockNRoll: You’re in AAP, don’t worry. Lots of people couldn’t go to Scholar’s Day! PLEASE get to know all of the resources that AAP offers, including tutoring, Mentoring Programs, etc. they’re awesome! Some students who aren’t in AAP go into the office all the time, haha.

^ Then study now and party when youre done with school. No one is going to force you to party. One of my good friends graduated last year from UCLA and has never had a drink in his life. Anything you do is up to you, no one is going to force you to do anything at either school. I’m sure there will also be many places where you can avoid loudness ect and can concentrate on your studies.

it depends upon the person then. I am a studious person but my parents are worried that if I am far away from them, they think that I will lose motivation to study. They told me that If I am far, they “can not check on me to see if I am studying or not”

for some reason, they still think that UCLA is like high school where many peer pressure each other.

I have really Conservative parents.

I am touring UCLA tomorrow with my parents. Hopefully going there will try to dispel the “party school, students do not care about their studies” perception of a college far away from home

Just wanted to let everyone know that UCLA Summer Sessions fees are due for non-UC students by 5pm today! I was really concerned because URSA was still showing me as a non-UC student and was charging me the rates respectively. I was concerned that I’d need to pay by 5pm today or be dropped so I gave them a quick call. They were able to re-code me as a Fall Admit and changed my fees/due date accordingly. Just giving you guys the heads up if your URSA is still the showing non-UC fee rate.

Divide by either $309 or $247 and whichever gets you to the number of units tells you what they’re charging you. Another way to tell is if you’re being charged a $350 registration fee in the fee breakdown.

do you guys know if you can appeal to a different major, because you do not want the one that you applied for? and im not takling from like human bio to like reg bio. i switched from physiological science to Econ at UCLA…lol

With housing it would have cost me about 3600 for the classes + housing for the last session. They were only giving me just enough to cover my classes. :/

I was tripping out about the fees as well. The eFan showed a non-student rate but my BruinBill showed the student rate. I sent them an email today and hopefully it gets sorted out. I didn’t have time to call them. It’s crazy the amount they charge non-resident/non-students. 6 grand to 3 is a large drop for 3 4-unit classes.

hey tiff, it’s me again. I hope things went well for you.

so now that i’m done with community college I’m gonna be able to start from scratch at UCLA right? do you know if we will need our community college grades in the future? like for graduate school or finding jobs? I hope they become a thing of the past.

To KidKrasher: Unfortunately (or fortunately) your CC records are needed for Graduate School, if that’s the route you wish to take, perhaps not for jobs as they are interested where you ultimately obtained your B.A./B.S. from. Luckily, if you choose to go to Graduate School, they will focus on the last two years of your undergraduate work (pretty much when you start taking your upper division courses).

Do you know when does financial aid for Fall come out? Because the one we see on our ePal is a preliminary review and just an estimated amount right? It’s not exactly 100% we’re getting this amount? Do you know if we’re going to be getting around the amount on our ePal though? My parents are asking about it because the expected parent contribution is $894 and I just told them to be ready to fork up 1 grand just to be safe lol. They want definite answers on when I’ll know for sure though so I thought who better to ask than you! And If I qualify for the blue & gold plan do I still need to meet the total net cost? They’re giving me 20 grand in aid but my total net costs after my aid will be 10 grand which I have to pay using work study, loans, etc. Will blue & gold cover that? And this might be a stupid question but the family contribution is yearly right, not quarterly?
