r there any summer program still accepting applications. If so what are they. I have applied to three and i will know about the decision for two of them in the coming week but im scared that i wont get accepted to either. The third is all the way out in south dakota and i doubt my parents will let me go that far. So if any one has any information on summer programs some where around the northeast and accepts high school juniors, and is somewhat cheap or free, your information will be greatly appreciated.
One more thing. I know a lot of cc users mentioned that if they do not or did not get accepted to any summer programs they just did research at a local college. How exactly do u go about that? I live right next to a few schools including vassar but i have not found any information about it.

Operation Catapult at Rose-Hulman is taking applications through May 9th, if you are interested in engineering.

Summer Study Program from Carnegie Mellon

they're accepting applications until june 9th. quite pricey, however.

is the program is south dakota YEA??

i got in, but my parents won't let me go. it looks like a total joke though, they were like asking me to recruit more applicants in their acceptance letter.

oh yeah, and i'm wondering about the research too. my local state university told me i have to be 18 to work as a research technician and i'm not allowed to volunteer in a lab. so what do i do now? how do i work in a lab if i'm only 17? and all the internship programs locally have either deadlines that passed or have already rejected me....

I applied to the Carnegie mellon programs but the free ones and ill prolly know tomorrow if im in.

Yes I also applied to YEA and i think i will definately be in, considering that it is no where close to prestigious and doesnt look very competitve. However it is so far that the plane ticket will cost me like $600 and i dont see the point of wasting that money for only six days.
