Any schools similar to Wisconsin-madison?

Sparkeye - The OSU early admissions program merely means that you will be guaranteed acceptance into the school of pharmacy after completing your bachelors. It’s a 4+4 program.

I repeat - consider the required total years of school needed for a PharmD when evaluating costs.

There are no longer any accredited bachelor of pharmacy programs. The only accredited pharmacy degree now is the PharmD.

It appears you are correct QuietType. For those certain who would be pursuing a PharmD, Michigan would be the far better choice over tOSU.

Thanks for the update! I thought so as well, just not so sure… Nonetheless, Michigan costs $15k more a year in tuition than Ohio State for OOS!! 15k x 6 = $90k more than TOSU not to mention Ohio State provides $8700 a year scholarship to OOS students. TOSU should still come up on top in terms of most saving (even with 8 years of schooling), plus the school does not charge extra over 12 credits = full time as most pre-pharm students would take 15+ credit hours per quarter. In addition, starting this school year, TOSU has changed to Semester System for the first time in school’s history which would also mean easier and smoother to complete the program than the quarter system at Michigan.

^^Sparkeye: First of all Michigan is on trimester system. Most students go to school Fall and Winter terms only/year. Also, you are forgetting a very important consideration for any student. To graduate two years earlier from Michigan over tOSU is going to mean two more addtional years of substantial income to pay off those loans. Pharmacy is still a highly employable profession that pays well right from the start.

Last I checked, Michigan is tied #5 with TOSU when it comes to PharmD. Plus, Columbus is roughly 3 hours closer to the east coast than Ann Arbor by car!! ;)

True!! But how many actually started off with direct admission to PharmD program at Michigan? I would have to guess that most freshman still started off with Pre-pharmacy. Last but not least, semester system is still easier than tri-semester based on my past schooling experiences…

^^^So you are saying that tOSU only has two semesters during the calendar year. Classes go from Sept. to Sept. with a couple of short breaks between? Or is it that tOSU closes down for the entire summer and doesn’t hold any classes?

rjk, it’s complicated, please find out the difference for us!! I am not an expert in this area, I graduated. But here is the link:

Ok,… I think I’ve answered OP’s original question based on what I know. I am not going to waste more time in TOSU vs Michigan on this subject. Both have great Pharmacy School. Dinner Time!! lol
