Any shot with 3.5 UC GPA from FL?

Alright so I'm from FL so all my honors classes are not taken into my UC GPA, only my APs which sort of screws me over.

I have a 3.5 UC GPA and a 2090 (600R 740M 750W, hope to bring up that reading) and Varsity Lax along with good ECs, etc.

Coming from a top 10 nationally ranked HS in FL.

With honors weighted my GPA is a 3.75 (thats an extra .5 for each honors)

Thanks Alot!

Honestly that GPA and SAT combo isn’t very impressive. My SAT score was in the lower 50% of the admitted freshman for the class of 2013 but my UC GPA was way above 4. I’ve been hearing that the UCs are going to accept more OOS to take their advantage of their higher tuition costs, but I believe you have a slim chance at UCLA.

How about extra curriculars? Better make sure that essay is superb also.

Your school ranking doesn’t matter… UCLA will not look into the fact that your school was super tough… they view all schools as virtually equals therefore, they use GPA to distinguish qualified applicants, and SAT’s to offer those qualified, acceptance… That is the short version of a rather long, strenuous practice w/ many variables.

depends on your ethnicity. if you’re black, latino, vietnamese, or any other kind of minority race then you’re basically guaranteeed in.

Very little shot. They won’t even look at your app with under a 3.4, and you barely make that cut-off. With so many applicants, you probably will get cut early.
