WM in strong MA public school; 3.35gpa out of 4.0 (3/4 classes at Honors level and 3 APs this year); 700M/610CR/540W; 690MathI SATII, 640US History SATII; pres. of language club (2ys); varsity team (4ys); few other ec's and job; not applying for financial aid.

Do you think I have a shot via Regular Decision?

Thanks.

Not applying for Fin. Aid will help you a little, but you need a better GPA and SATs

3.35gpa is a B+ -- even that's too low for GW? 3/4 of my classes have been at the Honors level, not regular college prep level. Wow, I really didn't figure GW to be in the Ivy category but I guess it is. Does GW look at the Writing section of the SATs? Thought the M/CR score of 1300 would be do-able, but again, guess I've been too optimistic.

I'll have to re-adjust my thinking this weekend then . . .

Would it even be worth the application fee???

Your SATs are not far off my daughter's, maybe a teensy bit lower, and she got in RD last year.

Seems like some really strong folks got rejected last year and others got in with lower stats, so who knows. Definitely worth applying!

Math is good. Reading is on the lowest of the average range. If you are really interested in going to GW, say so in "Why GW" essay. Good luck!!!!

Not applying for financial aid should help you a lot. Although I truly do not think that you are in need of help as your SAT scores & GPA are fine. However, this is probably the single most competitive year ever for college admissions, so be sure to apply to a few other schools as well.

I would add that if that is the school you realy want (suggest you visit first) then ED may be helping you since you'll not apply for FA
Good luck, and I agree with ColdWind about the competitive graduate body coming this year.
