I was just accepted to USC for the spring semester, and since it is my dream school, I will be more than happy to accept the offer. I currently live in Illinois and am planning to move to Orange County in August so that I can go to the community college there before the spring. Are there any other spring admits who live in the Orange County, Irvine, etc. area? I would to talk to other students planning to attend USC in the spring. I formed a group on Facebook in case anyone wants to join.

Hey, I pretty much copied most of this from a post I just made on another thread. I posted it here since I’m not really sure where I’m going to live during the fall and have some family friends all over Cali.

"I think I might be moving out to LA and knocking out some of the courses at a local community college (My cousin who is currently enrolled as a senior at USC recommends knocking out some of the harder general education and humanities credits at a school such as LACC).

Going to be kind of weird alone from Boston, MA but I’m sure there are probably other Spring Admits in the same position."

alligorical & Jster1994, great news! Not sure if you had a school in mind, but Orange Coast College is as close to a USC type community college as you can get. (Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area) You might want to check up on the transfer rates to SC though compared to the others (like Santa Monica, etc). Good Luck!

racedad, alligorical is already admitted to USC, so no worries. And what a great idea to come to California and get started taking cc classes in the fall. For those of you thinking about this, it’s a pretty easy way to get some GEs or language reqs out of the way and for a huge tuition savings. Another tip–some spring admits move to the USC area and start at Santa Monica College (CC) or LACC but still get to go the all the USC football games, parties, start meeting friends, etc. Sometimes you can sublet a dorm/apt space from a student doing study abroad for fall.

oh yah, that right! Thanks madbean, it’s been a long week. Great points about getting into the flow of SC.

racedad, I can only imagine you and family are in full-celebration mode these days! Heh.

:) Yeah, it’s going to be a fun weekend!
