yeah i know right? kinda scared me a lot too. i have the exact same GPA as you haha

Many community college students take non-transferable English and Reading classes that are fairly easy As, so those will hike up the GPA and the ad coms know that.
Driftingxdream, what was your friend's GPA without the non-transferable classes?

im not really sure, i gotta ask her. i do know though that only 9 credits of hers transfer (shes a freshman and this is based off only the fall semester). there was a non credit math class that didnt transfer which im assuming she did okay in

I think 9 credits is not enough for one to be considered a transfer student, so I can see why Rutgers didn't accept her. If she keeps her grades up and applies again, I'm sure she'll get in.

yeah you need 12 at least to transfer in

Ohhh that's kind of scary for me then. I'm coming from a four year college, but my college likes to name the classes weird names. Like instead of Victorian Literature, I'm taking 'The Victorian Mind'. I took a class called Newsstand Biology which was really just like Bio 101, and a 100 level lit class on feminine literature called 'Growing up Female'.

I guess they're used to these weird liberal artsy class titles...? I'm also just a freshman and all Rutgers has to base their decision off of is my high school grades and one semester of college.

Rawr. I'm all worried now.

same with me.. im a freshman so i only have one semesters worth of grades from CC too

It's not a bad idea to be in a community college for a bit longer than just one semester. It's cheaper too.

A friend heard back like two weeks ago.

is rutgers waiting until the last second to send out the decisions? theres a week left and it seems that a lot of people are still waiting......

yeah, seriously arkdev, im on the same boat as you

Sorry you guys have to wait so long. Hope they tell you something soon.

If we all get accepted, I hope we get to meet at orientation. We all invested time writing on this thread, it would be great to all meet up.

i was actually thinking that also haha i actually thought to myself "i wonder if ill run into any of the people on this thread without knowing it at rutgers when/if im there"

I'm not coming from a CC though. Going to Rutgers is about $6,000 cheaper than going to my current school. Hence not getting in will be a bit more of a financial burden.

literally just got in like a few minutes ago

Congrats, crossoverthesun! Yeah for some reason the RU status pages are always updated at 11pm!?!

didnt get into SEBS... waitlisted for SAS =(

this really ****ing sucks.

I'm sorry driftingxdream =(. It seems super competitive out there. I'm really regretting waiting this late to apply. Hopefully they'll be space for me, but it's seeming doubtful.
