Any transfer decisions yet?

Crossover, you said you had a 3.2. Im also coming from a 4 year school with a 3.45. I applied for SAS NB. You think I got a shot The only thing is im going for business and im going to have to reapply again. I might get rejected from Bus school but accepted to SAS. That would suck reall bad. Im sorry drifitingxdream. if you need any aupport, you can pm me. I feel for you b/c I honestly think Im going to get rejected too. Dont worry, you'll get in. I might not even be going b/c they're going to make me spend an extra year there.

Guys, I've called rutgers about a dozen times. Once to ask about my app. status, a second time to get resassurance that my GPA was good enough, a third time to make sure i made priority, a fourth time to fight with the director of apps to prove that I made priority, a fifth time to show that my one bad semester was not a true reflection of my talent, a sixth time, to again ask if my docs were complete, a seventh time to explain my reapplying plan, and today my eight phone call regarding my acceptance into the business school. If this school doesn't accept me after all I've been through, Im am going to go out of my mind.

Breathe Ron...breaaaathe.

thanks for the offer ron... that is really really nice of you

if it makes any of u feel better about ur gpa's.. i know a boy who just got in with a 3.1 with plenty of Cs on his transcript. plenty meaning 4. 2nd yr CC student

Ron, I am almost at the same place like you. Even though I was already accepted to SAS, I have to reapply to Business school in NB in July and won't know the decision until late August, which really sucks.

I talked to some person from BS and she told me that the finance major is already closed but there is still a possibility it will reopen. She also said that the minimum GPA would not be lower 3.3 and all your requirements must be completed by August 15th. Honestly, I don't think it's that serious with the GPA cuz they have to see your whole application, not just grades.

I think it's really annoying that we have to apply again after we are accepted to SAS.

Anyways, if you want detailed info of what they wrote me, visit http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/rutgers/490592-transfer-question.html

Good luck to you, hope you get in!

Ron I think you should be fine but only time will tell question does anyone know the process of going into the Bloustein School?

Crossover, only time will tell, thats sounds kind of not promising for me. I mean i know what you mean but looking at your situation, do you think I have a shot

honeslty ron, with your grades i dont see why you shouldnt make it, a 3.45 is a very solid and good gpa to have..

Thanks arkdev. It must feel real good to be accepted. I wish I was you now. Kudos man.

lol...i havent heard anything back either ron..im still waiting

Oh my bad ardev

NYudreamer, how many do they accept as a transfer into BS. I hope its not so competitive. Im a mangement major. She told me that 45 credits need to be taken at rutgers. So if you took managerial or financial acc, those would not transfer. The only business courses that would transfer would be stats, econ, calc, and computer science. SO bascially alot of my courses will not transfer. Now I have to grapple with the decision of whether to lose a year at rutgers or finish out at St Johns. I transfered to late and Im not sure what to do. I know rutgers has the name and rep but do I really want to spend another year in college if i dont have to.

Well, I didn't know that my accounting classes wouldn't transfer. I took fin. acc. I&II and also Managerial Account. I don't feel like retaking it. Are you sure they won't transfer?? Honestly, I think getting into BS is more competitive than getting into SAS. That's why I'm still worried even tho I was admitted to SAS. The lady from BS told me they have about 30 available spaces, which is not much :(

With your situation, it's hard to say if it's worth to lose a year in RU. I mean I would consider the financial side of it. Personally, I wouldn't want to pay an extra year to get Bachelors. On the other side, I don't know much about St. Johns... so if you think you would do better in finding a job after having degree from RU, then maybe it is worth.

BTW, when will we find out which classes transfer?? It wasn't in admittance letter...

You have to set up an appointment with an advisor. Yes i spent 30 min on the phone with a BS advisor. I was angry that these acc courses wouldnt transfer. They have a very strict policy of taking 45 credits at rutgers. All the basic business courses and your major courses must be taken at rutgers. Thats what the advisor told me. I think its just messed up that these courses i worked hard in won't transfer. Unfortunately, their business school requirements are very strict. you might be able to talk with an advisor and somehow worked it out between the both of you. There are many way to skin a cat. So I wouldnt give up just yet.

Yea, thats true. Don't panic before it's sorted out :)

I have feeling that they will receive a call from me soon...

It's insane, every school has such different requirements. NYU wants from you to have all accounting classes done before transferring and then RU won't accept them. It's ridiculous, really...

And I should be studying for my physics exam tomorrow but instead I'm browsing College Conf... this web is soo addicting. Worse than coffee :)

So where are all you guys, and girls, going to be staying on campus?

hey ron stay positive and based on my results i'm sure you'll get in just can't think too much about it, johnny1 as far as that question goes i hope that College Ave is still open otherwise i might just get my own place near by

Guys, RU info told me the status screen is updated at 5 am every morning.

Crossover, question: did you have to submit your SATs and if you did were they equal to your GPA. Also am I at a disadvantage b/c Im not submiting SATs, just the GPA. As far as GPA we're very similar. Im sure you(just as I ) have made the Dean's List and belong to some honor society. Based on your stats with the exception of the SAT, I should (hopefully) be admitted. Now if you got like a 1200 on the SAT, then Im screwed. My question is will it make a difference SAT or no SAT when they're evaluating our application. I dont think just a 3.45 and deans list is going to cut it. It didnt work for driftingxdream, I dont think its going to work for me. You had to do stellar on the SAT. Oh and drifitngxdream question: Was that kid with the 4 Cs applying as a sophomore or a freshman. Im trying to find someone who has transfered as a sophomore(no SATs required) from a 4 year school with a 3.4 and got accepted. I think the SATs are making and breaking these applicants.

Checked last night at 11- nothing.

Checked this morning (literally, two minutes ago)- accepted into SAS at Rutgers and Camden.

Woo. :D
