Did you have to submit your SATs, Migronta?

what does nj cc stand for?

New Jersey, Community College

well im glad to hear that someone got a decision, maybe we will all get ours soon too.

I guess you need a 3.8-4.0 to get into rutgers. I hope there's still hope for me.

I didn't have to. I'm transferring in with my associates so they didn't require it. It was listed on my high school transcript anyway though.

congrats! and your stats were really good also

Thanks. I'm still not sure if I'm going to attend, but I'm happy they made a decision either way.

Guys, im having serious doubts. Looks like i might be finishing my last year at my college. If you dont have at least a 3.8, i don't think your getting in. Unfortunately, the whole applicant pool is going to have 3.8s and they will knock me right out of the race. At first I thought I should be optimistic about rutgers but now I see my chances are very slim. I guess I'll have to get a 4.0 this semester and reapply. Good luck everyone.

are you actually serious on what you are saying????
Not everyone here is applying from a community college, some people are applying from good schools and might have lower gpa then 3.8 but that doesnt mean they wont get in..

Even needs to relax. Rutgers isn't going to all of a sudden become so selective that you have to have a 3.9 GPA to transfer in. The school has about 30,000 plus students and they need to keep it around that so they'll probably still admit around the same number of people. Plus they know that kids are applying to other schools and amny applicants won't enroll anyway. Its a huge state univeristy and they want New Jersey community college kids to get their degrees there.

ron relax!!! dont jump to conclusions just wait it out! theres no point in stressing about it! especially to the extent that you are taking it to. seriously.. i mean ur gpa isnt bad.. its actually good. its no 3.8 but its good. nothing is certain though. seriously just wait it out.

ron seriously i mean don't worry as sad as i am to say it Rutgers is not that competitive a 3.8 is good enough to get into like Uchicago or UVA, schools in the uppertier

Alright. your guys are right. But im still going to reapply for the spring 09. Im going to get a 4.0 this semester and write a killer essay. I messed up applying this year because my junior year gpa was so low. But when they see me go from a 2.88 to a 4.0 both semesters, i will have a great shot of getting in. Plus im going to put alot of work in the essay. My dad keeps telling me just finish your last year at your current school. I just keep thinking im going to make more money from rutgers because it has a better "NAME". But me personally, I really dont care about the name as long as im getting a good education. Its really what you make of it. I know friends of mine who go to small private college who are making three times as much as someone going to ivy league. Ideally, I would love to go to rutgers but realistically its a very small chance. I spoke to a counselor again yesterday and he told me my gpa is competitive but not that competitive on rutgers standards. When I met him first, he told me i should be good and my grades overshadow my bad grades. The second time i spole to him, he told me i should be okay and he didn't recall half of our conversation. Oh great, Now i can ruminate on how my chances are so slim and try to force myself to think thst he remembers. I shouldn't have called him because it only increases the anxiety and feeds
into my reassurance. When can you start submiting applications for the spring 09? I know not now but sometime during the fall?

I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is that the counselor says that if you mantain a 3.5 or better each semester at your college, your a shoe-in. The bad news is that I did not do this and did poorly one semester. I didn't think it was that easy but if you maintain a high gpa and some club involvement i.e. chess club, honor society, various organizations, you will be set. When I reapply, Im going to write an essay and have much better grades. He said the admission counselors are real sticklers when it comes to current semester grades. Unfortunately, rutgers can't see the true talent that I should be getting credit for. But hey, what are you going to do. Can't bury my head beneath the sand, I must move on and be strong. Good luck to everyone and this year i wil not be able to sport my rutgers jersey. Go Scarlet Knights!!!

Ron. Chill out.
You haven't been rejected yet, so why jump to so many conclusions.
