Any transfers here planning to study abroad?

I'm interested in studying abroad for a semester but with only two years at Berkeley, would this not be a wise idea? Anyone else thinking the same?

i'm interested in studying abroad also.

Same here, I'm interested in studying abroad again in Japan. I think it's a great idea if you want to persue that foreign language.

if I had the money I would

I am too. Maybe France, UK, China, Brazil, South Africa or Ghana. I was checking out the UC EAP site.

"if I had the money I would"

Citan, from what I know, most study abroad places are about the same price as a quarter/semester at respective UC...sometimes even cheaper.

I would go study in my homeland (Phillipines) but the mofo terrorists got it on lockdown so its forbidden.

Psh terrorists

"but the mofo terrorists got it on lockdown"

LOL.

I mean the situation is sad but I cracked up when I read that.

Oh wells, I really only wanted to study there for the native fillipinas. No interest in my culture, ancestry, language, etc etc whatsoever.

Matt30 are you fillipino?

Which terrorists are there anyway? Is it still Abu Sayaaf?

yeah I think so and also the unstable situation with Arroyo.

In all seriousness, it makes me sad. Makes me realize how trivial my problems are.

Cardinal were you born in the Phillipines?

Nah, I'm born here. But I understand tagalog completely and I think with a litttle practice I could probably be fluent. I really want to take Tagalog at UCB but I can't because I have so many English classes to take. Oh wells. Are you Fillipino Yams?

i want to go somewhere in europe :]

Same here but I'm already behind in my schedule too. Except my understanding sucks compared to the average Filipino American :o

Let us practice at Cal ucbhi =)

Or we can just write all our CC posts in tagalog from now on....

Nope I'm not Filipino, eventhough everyone thinks I look Filipino.
When I transfer out I hope to be good in Spanish(I'm taking them for my major) but I also really really want to learn French. I know mandarin since that was my language of instruction when I was in Malaysia, but now my mandarin hasn't been too great because of the lack of practice. But I can still, read, write and speak it.
So you're an english major? are you going to take up any minors etc? Oh! And btw do you have any idea how many minors you can take up at UCLA?

Tagalog kinda sounds like Malay. I think there are some similiar words, since both languages are polynesian related, or something like that.

Haha I can't construct sentences :o

I don't know if you ever heard of the Filipino movie "The Debut" but the "making of" in the special features is pretty damn inspirational I think. It's all about the process of getting a Filipino-American movie into American theaters. It's hard but you want them to succeed, it makes you wanna spread some pride :) The actual movie was kind of corny though.

definitely studying abroad...twice if I can. Europe (France, England, somewhere there) and China/Japan are my main interests. I really like China and Japan, but those languages...man...so tough.
