Any transfers who took many prerequisites in the spring get accepted?

Sorry for flooding the forum a lot, but I’m just really worried what the UC’s would think when they see I have 4 major prep courses in progress during the Spring semester.

I’m most worried about my admission chances to UCLA and UCB, because I’ve heard they’re the most strict when it comes to pre-req timing.

I’ll be finished with them by the Spring before transfer, but I feel like this would affect my chances immensely. I’m going to be taking Differential Equations & Linear Algebra, Calculus 3, Physics 2, and Physics 3.

Any transfers who took many pre-reqs in Spring get accepted?

Is there any way you can take one of those in the winter? I had a very capable friend try to take four classes, all of similar difficulty, in the spring and he struggled so much that he had to retake one (differential) in the summer and almost lost his acceptance.

@kristinpete where did he get accepted to? Also none of those classes are offered in the Winter, but I believe I can maintain the coursework since I don’t have a job and I take notes on classes during breaks (winter / summer).

UCLA here with ~50 percentile GPA, 4/9 prerequisites in Spring = waitlisted

@embemonkey He went to UC Irvine for Bioengineering

The school probably does consider whether a student they are reviewing is likely to complete the courses listed for their spring quarter. The schools see a lot of students having to withdraw or take failing grades after being accepted somewhere…It’s definitely a stressful time for those students because the UC schools do threaten to revoke their acceptance if conditions are not met…

And do know that this last spring, many of us on here were so obsessed with cc and our college decisions that some major study time was lost. Senioritis does occur in the spring, more so than in any other quarter. People are generally less focused than in Fall or Winter. Fortunately, I only had two stem classes in the spring, but I was definitely feeling ready for summer.

I made the assumption that you are on the quarter system (we were at our cc)…Since you are on the semester system, the workload might be more manageable for you.

My mistake.

The guy I knew tried all of that on the quarter system smh…(Differential, O.Chem, Genetics and the last portion of Calc series)
