any upenn students from the south?

are there any upenn students from the south? how was the transition? I've never been up north before.

My roommate is from Texas, and one of the girls across the hall is from Florida; the only thing I've heard from them is that it's a lot colder up here in the winter.

I'm from the south. It's cold here. In addition, you might notice that there is a bit more racial/class tension for some reason. The South has actually come a long way in creating harmony among racial groups, and there are some cases here in Philly where people treat you badly because you're white and well-dressed. But overall, people here are more lively - they think faster, act faster, and walk faster, in my opinion. I think that has a lot to do with being in a city rather than the North, but nonetheless, that's what you can expect. Oh, and things are actually in walking distance. You do not need a car at all.

I walk fast as HELL. That's how we do in the North!
