Any Word on the Summer Seminar Yet?

Well its been a week or so since I applied, but no word yet. How about y’all?

Be patient.

Yeah, no word yet. Someone said that they tend to take about a month to get back to you. It's been driving me nuts.

I just submitted mine earlier today. I would have done it on the 1st but I wanted to meet with my counselor first.

Heard by e-mail on Jan 25th last year.

Alright, it's been a week since I've applied, so I should hear back in about 2 weeks or so (I'm hopin').

I had to have an interview with my ALO on Jan. 27, then i got an email of acceptance on Jan. 30. Some people however, do not have to interview with their ALO. Mine wanted to because he said it would help my chances of getting in....I guess he was right.

Quick question. On the application it asked for our Congressman, but I don't have one because I'm pretty sure nominations for class of 2012 starts Oct 2007. Why would it ask us for the Congressman if we don't have one yet?

They want to know what congressional district you live in - hence your congressman's name. Everyone living in the US has a congressman. At this time it has nothing to do with a nomination. They just want to be able to communicate with your congressman about you in the future.

Oh I see. I chose the only name I realized, which I'm 95% sure he's my district. I hope so :). Thanks!

Quick question. On the SS application, did they want everything (achievements) in a list form, or in paragraph form? For each thing I wrote a paragraph on clubs and sports I did and how they affected me. Is this OK or did they want it short and to the point (or maybe it doesn't matter).

How long did everyone make their "essay?"

I made a list.

I made a list also. I didn't even say what years or how long either, just that I was in it or do it.

I made it in a list because I believe that they wanted the application in a resume format. Oh yeah, I had about 6 sentences for my statement of desire but I think that the substance was more important than the length.

Woohoo!! 100 posts :)

My statement of desire was about 10 sentences. It was incredibly powerful and just had the love and passion of wanting to attend (at least my mom and aunt thought so).

Hmm I hope they still accept it. I emailed them asking about it, if I don't get a reply i'll call. Thanks.

where did you put clubs and extracurricular activities? civic involvement?

i put them in academic achievement

I put them under civic.

for civic i put CAP. as long as it's on there there, they won't reject you if you put them under the wrong one (unless it's way off like sports).

Anyway, quick question. If we apply to the SS, do we still fill out the PCQ? Because they look the same.
