Emory released their decisions today.

Emory? today? a Saturday? WEIRD…

That is really weird…but kinda good I guess! Maybe Chicago will do it today too? Unfortunately I won’t be here at 4, so I’ll have to wait till like 8!!! :(

According to the general ‘EA decision dates’ thread, Chicago released on the 13th in 2008. That was a Saturday. Today is a Saturday. One can be hopeful.

Oh boy …

They might come out in a few hours?

don’t be so hopeful. I have too much hope yesterday but I found out that much of my hope was in vain. Friday nothing happened. and I do think Saturday will be less probable. Emory could be an exception I guess. 1a1 please don’t be so hopeful…I begin to feel nervous. :(

I wasn’t even expecting this, but somebody brought up the Saturday-Saturday correlation.

Does anyone know if Chicago typically closes early on decision release dates? If so, then I think it’s definitely the 15th. And also, where does it say the 13th for 2008? When I visited, every first year said they found out on the 16th…

Ya I think it will be the 15th…why else would they close early that day? My guess is they’ll release decisions and close early so to avoid phone calls from angry/disappointed students/parents

Last year EA decisions were released on Monday the 15th, so I think we’ll be getting the news on Monday or Tuesday. Until then, I should really be studying for Finals…

I believe mccj may have been mistaken. Decision were released on the 13th in 2007, not 2008, and in 2007 the 13th fell on a Thursday not a Saturday.

aaaaaaah. My apologies to all.

Okay, guys, let’s just check at 4 pm everyday for the next few days.

Those of you with finals/tests - Immerse yourself in your books!
Everyone else - Immerse yourself on youtube, random reading, etc. etc.

And join the discussion on the EA Countdown thread if you want to distract yourself on here :)

The class two years ago ('08 HS seniors) was released on 12/13/07 – a Thursday. Chicago won’t do a weekend release.

Now that Georgetown decisions are out, I really want my Chicago decision!

^Congrats on getting into G-town Romanticism.

Why do I have a mental image of the entire U of C Admissions Department spending the weekend reading this forum and laughing hysterically?

ahh!! im scared.
a rejection will just completely destroy me, i don’t think i’ve ever wanted something more. i know i’ve never loved anything (not a relative) more!!
ugh this anticipation is killing me

^^I brought them the popcorn.

@letigre: Believe me, whatever you’re feeling now will come to pass even if you’re rejected (if,god forbid, that should happen). It happened to me two days ago. I spent three years with Columbia as my first choice, thinking about little else in that time. Applied ED and got rejected. I took it positively, which surprised everyone around me. But after the initial crushing disappointment came a sense of inexplicable peace. In any case, look me up on the Columbia boards and I was singing to almost the same lyrics (never wanted anything more/never loved anything more). So hang in there. Hopefully, good news is headed your way but if it isn’t, it’s not all over.

That said, here’s to hoping Chicago lets out those decisions on Monday.
