is anybody applying to NIH for summer 06 here?
or anybody has been to NIH before?

I'm really interested in NIH..could you tell me where to apply and stuff?

I think there's a whole NIH thread...also I would go on www.nih.gov and search for summer programs...I'm interested as well!

More specifically: http://www.training.nih.gov/student/sip/index.asp

They even have last year's little handbook thing up on the website..it's a PDF...it tells like the planned activities and all that.

Is it possible to get into this as a rising junior if you'll be 16 by the start of the program?

I think I might apply.

I want to apply to the National Human Genome Institute, but with the way my school works. I've only had one year of BioChem, but 2 years in physics (heading towards an Engineering Major, but i'm thinking about going into BioMedical Engineering).

Do they teach me most of the things I need to know, or do I really need to wait until I've taken Biology and Chemistry before seriously applying?

Could you give a link to the handbook, ceecee? I can't seem to find it.

I think the most important thing now is to contact some investigators at NIH and get their permissions to work in their labs. If you don't do so, you don't have a big chance to get into the program I think.

I am. I hope I get in.

i've heard this program is all about contacts.
