Anybody Enrolling?

So after much deliberating and weighing the choices that were given to me, I've decided to enroll at RPI. My gut tells me I've made the right decision.

Has anybody else decided to enroll? I'm curious to see who some of my future classmates will be.

I'll be there! It took me a while to decide too but it feels right for some reason - I can't explain it any more than that.

It's good to know there's definitly another MA person going - any idea if they get Red Sox games?

more red sox fans huh? there are too many of them here...I am a phillies fan myself and use MLB TV for games
here's the channel lineup in the dorms: http://www.fallsearth.com/campus/12180/index.cfm

My son had the same feelings and RPI rose to number 1 choice after being 2nd for the most of the past year. He had the same comment - he just felt at home. I was very impressed by the enthusiasm the students had about their work. They all admitted they worked very hard, but they were having an amazing time. We also spoke with someone who had gone to high school with my son (so he was not one of the tour guides) and he was very enthusiastic about the school.

The guide during our dorm tour said they do not get Red Sox games on TV, but some kids watched them via the internet (don't know the specifics though).

What are your potential majors? My son is bio/chem/math in the School of Science.

I'm in the school of engineering, and am probably going to major in Nuclear Engineering and/or Engineering Physics. I visited their facilities last year, and I was quite pleased with the quality and variety of opportunities that were available.

thanks for the baseball info seg :-)

palermo - I'll be going into mechanical engineering, and possibly going for a minor in math as well - we'll see if that works out

I decided engineering is not for me, therefore I will not enroll

Another one from MA here, nice to see that there are others like me.

Going to RPI because I applied ED (felt the same way as everyone else in this thread). Look forward to seeing you guys there.

Today I finally decided on Rensselaer. I just sent in my deposit and other forms.
It came down to Stevens Inst of Tech and RPI, but RPI won me over in terms of their scholarship (27,600/yr Leadership Award), reputation and campus.
My other acceptances came from Stevens, Drexel, Lehigh, Rutgers & Rowan.

Hey! I'm going to be at RPI next fall. I haven't decided on a major yet; it'll probably be management and chemical engineering (dual major). I just wanted to get to know people. So to start off, here's some stuff about me:
~Azn girl
~Love doing community service, reading, and eating chocolate
~Rensselaer Medalist (I got a pretty good finaid package)
~You probably don't want to know my stats
~Hmm...I live in a bubble?

For me, all roads point to RPI - the study abroad program (esp. being able to do engineering abroad), the Engineering program, some cool techy-arts classes I'd like to take (vid production, animation, etc.), and other stuff - but there's something in me saying I'll regret it...

...then again, I'm a very indecisive person, so I think I'll have that feeling whatever I decide on.

btw - my other options are U Rochester, WPI and Northeastern.

Hello, one big question for any new international student, hailing 15,000 miles away!
How is it being at rensselaer? the acceptance, and adaptiabity?

Go Yankees! RPI is in the Empire State, not MA. Red Sox fans stay put in MIT.

I never said the Yankees weren't good - but I've grown up with the Sox and I'm sticking with them.

Without the Sox games at school though, I'm sure I'll be watching more Yankees games - if for nothing else than to keep watching some good baseball (the Red Sox will still be my favorite team though -sorry!)

Whatever, it's not like baseball season lasts that long, most of it will be when we are on vacation. I don't think YES network and FSN New England are even shown in Troy.
