Hey i just got in too. 3.4 good test scores. I'm really excited! Anyone have any info about the dorms or the discovery seminars? Thanks :) See ya there

iwantuw88; Well done. Congratulations! Everyone is in that has been posting here. Good luck everyone.

Why is UW that slow i got my response in like 15 days in december...

getting letter early is not the norm. ppl forget that normal decisions are made in april. People that got in early applied before Dec 1st and met the AI.

Does the UW send in a fat envelope? My acceptance letter from the UW Academy came in a thin one so I am currently without information on course registration and registering for housing. FUrthermore, I am worried - I will be attending a residential summer program for 7 weeks and may not receive the materials until it's too late.

It takes about 2-3 weeks after getting the original acceptance to get the package.

I'm so happy for all of you who made it into UW! My daughter received a rejection letter. Resident. 3.38 gpa. Honors and AP scores of 4. Academic Decathlon medals. 1240 SAT. Weak EC's mostly because she visited her dad in the summers. The rejection hit her hard. Do you have any thoughts about seeking an appeal? I'd hate for her to be turned down twice. (She is now going to University of Iowa.)

Before my daughter was accepted I thought about how to make an appeal case. Of course, without knowing why your d was rejected it is hard to know where to begin. However, I thought my d's ECs might have been the weakest part of her application so I would have started there. In her case, I always wanted the family to be together for evening meals as much as possible. My wife and I also thought it wise to let my daughter pursue natural interests rather than trying to develop a resume for college admittance. To me, visiting her dad trumps any EC opportunity. Beyond that; as an in-state kid with her Stats she should have been in; no question. Good luck.

Just FYI: You can apply for housing here: http://hfs.washington.edu/ even without being accepted yet and surely without having the packet. They don't actually guarantee housing to anyone, and late applications are more likely to be stuck in a three person room, so if anyone knows they are in but hasn't gotten the packet yet, I'd reccomend it. I actually applied about a week ago, a few days before my packet came. It does require a $300 deposit to complete the registration.

I declined UW today, so my spot can hopefully go to someone who was waitlisted (if they do that).

I need a UW NetID to apply for housing, don't I? Because I just tried to get one and it required a PAC. :(

anyone know how long it takes after getting the initial acceptance letter to receive the welcome packet? I still haven't received it, and I'm just wondering.

By the way, Im super curious...SimFish, do you go to Redmond High School? I live in redmond, too, and go to RHS...maybe I know you! Also, I noticed that you are 16...how cool! I am too...I don't know anybody else as young as me who's a senior. Did you skip a grade? I skipped kindergarten.

Edit: Nevermind, I'm wrong.

No, I go to Inglemoor, but I do know a few people in Redmond High: Olivia Hsu (or something like that), Haik Kalantrian, and Iris Hwang. I suck at last names lol. I never skipped any grades but am going to the UW through the UW Academy program, a special program for early entrance.

hey, how do you join those programs and stuff? I want those experience of a small school within a large school. What kind of programs should I join? Also, would they mail you stuff about work study?
