I auditioned on October 20th 2012, I was wondering if anyone had heard anything yet…

My son was at auditions in Atlanta this last weekend. I understood from the audition information sheet that anyone who auditioned in this fall quarter would be notified by the end of December or early January. Best of luck to you!

We were told the same thing when my daughter auditioned in Dallas. They will make decisions on all fall auditions and notify students by end of Dec. or first week in Jan. Does anyone know if Point Park has a cut system for MT??? I have heard yes and no??

It is not really considered a cut system at PPU. Rather when you are admitted for MT, you are admitted as a BA student. After a year, you audition to get into a BFA track. So, try to understand that if admitted now, you are not guaranteed to get into the BFA track. You are not cut from the school, however, but if you are not admitted after the first year into the BFA track, you stay in the BA track.

Soozievt—it states on the Point Park website that the audition from the BA into the BFA acting and musical theater program occurs second semester ‘sophomore’ year. Do you have information to the contrary? Thanks!

They told us at auditions last weekend that BFA auditions take place at end of freshman year. I even asked for clarification on the point.

mcpcwhite—Thank you! Either a revised policy or a website mistake, I suppose

Yay, I got in!(:

How did you find out you got in at Point Park? Letter? Email? Update on PointWeb?

Letter was sent

I also recieved a 12k scholarship,Goodluck to your son!

Okay cool - that must mean letters have gone out. We received ACADEMIC notification from Admissions office, and then a follow-up postcard about tuition deposit, but no letter from the Conservatory on audition decision yet.

And CONGRATS Kayebrownn3!!

I’m sure you’ll hear soon. And thank you!

Congrats!! That is wonderful Christmas news!

I am curious. Did your admission status in PointWeb reflect that you have been artistically accepted?

Accepted for MT with an awesome scholarship!!

I found out with a letter. Nothing changed in my admissions status on PointWeb.

No, it doesn’t show.

Thanks for the info. regarding cut system or not. We did realize about the BA and then auditioning later into BFA. My daughter transcripts got lost so they just got them and it does show that she is academically accepted online, but that just changed on Friday. We have not received anything from admissions in the mail yet. It says on the website that they can not release artistic acceptance info. until student is notified of academic acceptance, so we may have to wait to hear till next week or Jan.??? It does say on her status something about a letter sent regarding honors? Anyone know anything about that???

mtgirl2013 - I’m pretty sure the honors letter is related to her academic acceptance. When did everyone audition? I’m wondering if those who have already received artistic notifications auditioned early?

Thanks I figured the honors letter was about the academic acceptance. She auditioned in Nov. in Dallas. From what I am hearing everyone that auditioned Oct-Dec. would hear about artistic decision by end of Dec. or first week in Jan. Tons of kids from Dallas just got their info. just a few days ago. A couple of acceptances and tons of waitlist is what I have heard.
