anybody received confirmation e-mail/postcard?

I mailed my application on December 19th, and still have not received an e-mail/postcard assuring me that the college has received my application. Has anybody received a confirmation of some sort?

Raindrops--you may want to call the Admissions Office just to confirm. When my D applied EDI, she received an e-mail confirming receipt about two weeks after she sent it.

I got a postcard with a Pomona bumper sticker a few days ago. I never got an e-mail though...

Iphilosophize--D got the bumper sticker, too, but after the deposit was paid. She received the e-mail b/c Pomona had a question about her app.

i havent gotten anything... sent it in on the deadline... hmm...

Last year my son applied ED. He didn't think he would get in as he barely recieved any mailings at all from Pomona compared to all the mail he recieved from other colleges . He did get a confirmation but it was later in the game with this and an ID # I believe to check the computer on the announcement date. Once he was accepted and sent his deposit the mail and t shirts, bumper stickers etc started coming. It never hurts to call though.

Sorry should say RD not ED

so pomona doesnt send any confirmation of materials recieved for RDers? and also, when they say that they will notify all applicants of any parts of their app missing, does that mean the applicant can send them in at that time, like if a teacher rec was not recieved or something? or does it mean "oh, by the way, 2 months later, we wanted to just let you know that your app was never completed and you have no chance of getting in. sorry!"
which is it?

They would not do that, call and check but I may wait until Feb 1 as it sometimes takes awhile after the holidays to log everything in.

D received an e-mail that her materials had been received (for ED1) but that the GC rec was incomplete. She followed that up with a phone call, discussion with the GC, and finally the GC faxing the information to Pomona (Pomona's suggestion). I agree with Arizonamom that Pomona would tell you with plenty of time left for you to submit the missing information.

I mailed my Pomona supplement in with a stamped postcard Dec. 27, and I received the postcard back Jan 5. I still have yet to receive confirmation about my online CommonApp submission though. I second the mom's- they'll let you know if anything is missing and allow you to re-submit those materials. good luck!

Well, I haven't received anything either. I went for my pomona interview on Jan 5, and at that time, they were still (literally) sorting out packages in the admissions office.

I haven't received anything either. I sent the common app on Dec. 16 and the supplement on Dec. 27 for EDII. I'm starting to get a little nervous...

If you're nervous about the status of your app, do call the Admissions Office. D found the Admissions ppl very helpful.

i havent gotten anything either...sent in app a looong time ago..

im worried as well. I sent my app in, first part, check, supplement, commonapp, all at once dec 26 and i still have recieved nothing, also my mom just checked to see if they cashed the check and they didnt which makes me worried more that the postal service lost the mail. what am i going to do??

Be proactive! :-) Call the Admissions Office. The folks there are very helpful and you'll know exactly the status of your app (whether it was received or not).

I called the admissions office to see if my app was complete and everything. The woman was pretty short with me and just said they would send an e-mail to all applicants when they were done processing their apps.

Lindsaylu--Sorry to hear about your inquiry, a total 180 from my D's experience. Being in a "customer"-service field myself, I believe there's no excuse for being curt. I have a friend in college admissions (not Pomona), and she said she's been working flat out, even on holidays.
