Anybody up to shorten and edit a Common App Essay (976 words)...quickly?

<p>I answered Prompt 3, the "person who influenced you" essay. I poured my heart into it, but it's much too long and (I fear) a bit confusing. So if anybody would like to do what I can't and cut anything you find unnecessary, I would be much obliged. I can't really judge for myself - I can justify every paragraph, but it probably won't make any sense to anybody else.</p>

<p>FYI, I'm applying to University of Chicago, Reed, Kenyon, Sarah Lawrence, Hamilton, and a couple of backups as an English major.</p>

<p>My main concerns: It doesn't tell enough about me. Too lengthy/boring. I cut about 100 words then added 250, so I haven't yet gotten any feedback on the newly edited essay. </p>
