I'm not sure, Sullyc101. I live in Northern NJ, but I haven't received anything.

did you apply via the priority app? cuz im in northern NJ and i got my letter over a week ago

I applied priority and haven't received anything yet. It might be because I'm in Europe. Crap now I'm nervous.

We live in CT and my son got his right before Christimas. (priority app) Some students got the reply before and some after. One student slipped through the cracks and was accepted when he/she called.

I got my letter today. $19,000 in merit aid.

I'm so excited! Drew University has a wonderful English Department!

=)

I'm glad you're so excited! Congrats and Good Luck

Thanks. Have you heard yet?

My son was acccepted with less merit than you received and less than other schools. He thought with his ACT (31), etc. he would get a higher merit offer. It's ok though, because Drew was a safety ( he really wanted a urban, larger school and was accepted to both he has applied to EA, so far). For him to attend Drew, he would have had to received a much larger award. But good luck to you! I think Drew has alot of fine things going for it

Oh, I see. I know Drew looks at the entire person (extracurriculars, essay, community service, etc)...this could have added depth to my rather inferior test scores. Good luck to your son, too! With a 31 on the ACT, he's sure to get a good financial package from many, many colleges! =)

"I'm so excited! Drew University has a wonderful English Department!"

Congrats MP!

Yes, Drew does have a great English Dept. Though students like my D suffering through RYEO -"read your eyes out"- might not be the best people to ask! ;-)

Seriously, they recently beefed up their Poetry offerings with a new faculty member and added a unique MFA in Poetry. Also, many students do a semester abroad in London junior year.

For students interested in writing, there is a minor program. The literary magazine ("Insanity's Horse") is quite good and the weekly student newspaper is pretty good as well. And, of course, theater offerings and opportunities to write/direct are excellent.

Haha, it was essentially Drew's "Insanity's Horse" that drew me to Drew. What a pun.

Corny. =]

Good one!

Once you get to campus you'll be amazed at how many people named "Drew" go to Drew. I almost wonder if it's a little Admissions Office joke...If a kid named Drew can count to 10, he's in! ;-)

hey. i live in va and i have not gotten my letter yet either. i am really nervous cause it is my first choice. i read somewhere that the notification date is dec. 19th but people are finding out sooner... AHHHH. has anyone else applied priority and found out?

Expect a letter next week, most likely. :D

ahhhh!!! its so hard to wait!!! all my friends are getting in and now i find out that people are getting into drew!!! is that because they did ED?

I know! Most of my friends have already been accepted to college (early action)!

It is so nerve-wracking, indeed. I'm waiting on a few more colleges too.

I applied with the priority application to Drew, though. However, I only live 45 minutes away from the university...Virginia is a bit farther away...

What do you plan on majoring in?

VA is really not that far... Its only like 5 hours... which is exactly what I want. I want to major in theatre! Where else are you applying???

Drew has a fabulous Theatre Department!

I hope to double major in English and Political Science, so I'm looking at schools that emphasize the field of communications. Drew is definitely up there on my list though. :)
