Drew has good programs for those too! When I went to visit, I took a government class and really liked it. I am looking at a lot of other majors too and that is why I want to go somewhere where I can do both... aka DREW!!!

Yep. That's the excellent characteristic of a Liberal Arts school. :)

Drew has a wonderful theatre department. If you can, talk or write to a student in drama; the college is very good about matching up students if you visit. Sometimes they highlight them on the website.
My son loves Psychology and has had wonderful professers; they really go out of their way for him and others. He also found he loved Economics and welcomed the requried classes because he experienced things he wouldn't have tried if he designed his classes completely on his own.
Good luck to you all!

thanks so much!

EDIT: i got into upenn on friday..so i guess i won't be going to drew

I would like my daughter to consider Drew. She wants to major in education, but i know that Drew doesn't have that major .... but students can take courses at a nearby school. She would probably major in Psychology. Do you know of any students who have done this at Drew?

My son's friend is...I'll PM you later with info.

My d heard over 1 week ago, early decision. Merit money. Out of state.

All this talk about drew gets me nervous (especially because i haven't gotten anything back yet). I should hear back this Friday, in an ideal world. I already got accpeted elswhere but drew is one of my top choices. Fingers Crossed

Sullyc and others who haven't heard yet...Consider giving Admissions a call early next week if you haven't heard by Saturday. We found these folks to be very helpful. And it doesn't hurt to show one of your top choices some love.

I got into Drew on Tuesday via e-mail and I got my letter today with my scholarship information!!! 11,000 dollars!!! WOOO HOOO!!! It's my first choice.

Yes, I agree with Cadbury, sometimes letters do get re-routed or lost with such large mailings. I remember a student last year who found out he was accepted, but the letter was lost. They emailed him and later he received the paper copy.

Good for you, dramaqueen1891! =)

After re-reading all these posts, I'm beginning to think that maybe my son should think about Drew again. He really loves poetry and Poli Sci!

D#3 just completed her Priority Application, they kept extending the deadline, until it was finally made January 19th; I believe it was orginally November 19th.

As I recall, the Priority Application process ran something like three waves when my D applied two years ago (Nov, Dec, Jan). She applied in the first wave, and there was a huge backlog of students waiting to hear in late Dec/early Jan. This is pure speculation on my part, but I wonder if this strategy stems from Admission's understanding that Drew is viewed as a safety for lots of students applying to ivies and top LACs. For example, I know that some of the prestigious prep schools in my area recommend that students apply there.

I thought maybe they weren't getting the numbers of applications they desired and that is why they kept extending it. I had noticed that their yield numbers for the past couple of years were not very impressive, I think they were far below the 30% that the schools always seem to shoot for. I don't recall the specific yield percentages however.

Fordham did the same thing when my son applied 2 years ago....they sent the priority app a few times, he missed the deadline, but then there was another. He applied and then before his acceptance near Christmas, he got another email asking him to apply!
I think they tend to get a lot of early apps nowadays and never seem to have enough people working in the office.

My niece, "ms. artsypants", was accepted today with a nice merit award. ;)

Congratulations Curmudgeon!
