Hey amazing people, hope you all are doing well. Saw this thread and wanted you guys to chance my transfer to Yale. 
International Student == Afghanistan
HS GPA == 3.54 (highest GPA in school was 3.61 because it was one of the hardest schools ever)
Speak 5 languages (Persian, Pashto, English, Turkish, and Hindi) Weird but I only learned 3 of them academically
Participated in 2 National Olympiads and one international Olympiad (won a Gold medal in CS field)
ECs HS: President Computer Club, President English Club, Turkish Literature Essay Writer, English Speaking Debater, Public Relations Officer at my school’s charity organization
Current School == Northern Arizona University :)>-
Computer Science Major and Math Minor
GPA: 3.9
TOEFL: 109
ACT: 25 ( weird thing but I took this test this year as it was never required before for any school, scored low as I was extremely sick and couldn’t retake it because Yale wouldn’t accept any later dates. TBH ACT is a piece of cake for me but look at my bad luck.) :-S
EC in college: Vice-President of international Club, ACM member, leader of volunteers for international orientation
Essays: Talked about how my life has been shaped in a warzone, my goals, my family’s sacrifices and how I went to the best school in AFG plus got accepted to 11 universities when I was coming to US. How I believe I have vision that guides me and motivates me to be at my best.
I would truly appreciate your responses. I received my rejection from Cornell so I would not even be surprised if I don’t get into Yale. I would really love to go to Yale (who doesn’t)

Your best hope is that your HS EC’s carryover and Yale likes them. If that’s the case, then you may have a chance, bit it’s small considering Yale has a very low admit rate
Does anyone know when decisions will officially be released?
@Zwischenzug if memory serves when I was looking at past threads decisions have come out on 5/8 in 2014 and 2015, 5/9 in 2013 and 2012. All Thursdays and Fridays apart from 2012, which was a Wed. @meowrp may have more insight though, see #21
So it will be 5/6 this year?
@Zwischenzug I thought it might be, and it wouldn’t be entirely out of the question, I guess? But this is all speculation on our part. I don’t really want to call and pester them about it though at this point. They’re probably in deep with final deliberations. And I should really focus on my finals - which by the way, hope everyone is surviving and doing well!
Haha very true. I’m on quarter system so I just got out of midterm week. Good luck to everyone with finals! Must be even rougher to have to wait for a transfer decision on the side.
Do they email a couple days before letting us know (like penn and columbia) or do they only say right when the decisions come out?

I just feel like when you are an international student, there’s always that one factor that disadvantages you, like AP classes, or standardized test, but fingers crossed hoping for the best.
Guys my check list disappeared today. Is it the same with all your portals too? Seems like decisions would be coming very soon.
@jwalters1 Not sure. I want to know too. But from looking at past threads they don’t seem to give the official heads-up email.

Hi guys. I called Yale Admissions yesterday and the rep told me that the result will be out 5 pm (EST) on the 10th of May. I think we need to go through the portal to check the decisions. That’s at least how it was for freshman decision when I applied previously.
