I got accepted too, got the "4-6 weeks" e-mail. I am from Sofia, Bulgaria, around 10-12 people from my school got accepted as well.

Congrats, Iwantlehigh! Good luck everyone with the financial aid package!

Thanks, bogororo! I still want Lehigh though ;) !
I too want an US college more, but some people told me that IUB is still a good option. After only three years (not 4), you would be able to apply for masters, but Bulgaria (along with Romania), will join the EU by then, so all the EU universities would be much cheaper like they are now for EU citizens, and you would be able to get a masters from an elite EU university. Then getting a decent job in the EU would be easier, and you would be closer to your home country ;) .

good luck bogororo and everyone! :)
I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

i got in, too! :) soooo happy!!! :D :D :D

i'm just waiting for the financial aid package. keeping my fingers crossed

has anyone already got their financial letters? :)

I just got mine!!!

ckakalacheva, share the good news with us! :) :) :)

My family is expected to provide 1 500 Euro + 5500 10-year loan. (My grant is 7000Euro)
How about you, diana?

same with me :) congratulations, ckakalacheva!
good luck to you all! :)

Hi. I am another Bulgarian admitted to IUB. What do you think of your financial aid package? I do not consider mine as the greatest deal. My family contribution is 1000, my scholarship is 5000 and my grant is 7500, but still I have 5500 Tuition Postponement, and in addition my personal expenses. So my family would have to provide me with about 4000 Euros annually and I will have to handle the Tuition Postponemet after I graduate. What do you think of your financial package ckakalacheva and diana_pl? Isn't that money too much for us Bulgarians? Is it worth it?

Btw where are you from ckakalacheva and diana_pl. I am from Kardjali.

Congratulations, atanas! I'm from Sevlievo! Nice to meet you. :)) Of course, the amount your family has to pay is quite huge for Bulgarian standards of living but it's not that unaffordable as let's say 18 000 Euros per year.

About the loan now. It sounds scaring to me too to know that I owe 16 500 Euros to the university but I think that most universities offer such loans and it's a common occasion to have to pay loans after graduation.
If I am not offered a better fin aid package at a US college, I'm definitely going to IUB. :))

Where else have you applied? You can email me if you like at ckakalacheva@abv.bg

semi-Plovdiv :)
I think it's quite a good offer. I mean, your family contribution is 1000 euros (mine is 1500). Although there are still some personal and travel expences, you will be able to afford IUB if you work - I am sure there are quite a lot opportunities for a student to find a job in Bremen. As for the American universities, I am also waiting for several replies :) But, as ckakalacheva said, I would be happy to go to IUB if I am not offered a better financial aid package in the USA

Unfortunately money is the main factor in our choice of college. Too bad for us.

my finaid was:
family contribution: 400 euro
Grant: ~1500
loan: 5500

but i found out that there's a package for from MIT. so, most probably i won't see you guys...

is it a real Financial Aid? it's weird.

Meder, your figures do not add to the total cost. I am confused, could you please explain- the total cost for tution and room, board is ~19k. How your aid package is meeting that when your contribution is 400 only?

well... there's a mistake.
add one 0 to 1500 so that it becomes 15000

people who received their acceptance through e-mail last week, has got decision by mail? How many days it takes to reach India?
