how long is your "statement"?
mine is 307 words. is that too much? :

hey chi sorry, im just wondering, what exactly is preferred admit? i just checked off "none" lol

i think its if you're itnerested in going into one their specific schools.
i picked college of pharmacy.

mine was just slightly longer than the other essays they asked for. 300 should be fine

Premed isn't a preferreed admit right?

Premed isn't a preferred admit. You'll be in the LSA. There is no pre-med program, only suggested courses to prepare you for medical school.

Is it advisable to use AP credits?

I can get out of math, 3 chem courses, and a USH course.

I think it's best to use your AP credits and move on to the next level, especially for math and science. Getting even one semester ahead in science for premed will help you a lot. I'm not a pre-med student, but I know people in general who regret declining credit because they wanted a review, which they later found to be a waste of time (and a GPA killer anyway).

Thanks for the info.

I can max out the AP credit available in the tests I took since I got all 4's, so I will use them up then!

What happens when I have no courses left to take though? Just take different classes or something?

You can only use AP credit for elective credit and placement...and I don't think you really run out of courses...there are plenty to choose from.

I want to apply to the college of engineering at UM. Preferred admit or no?

can anyone proofread / critique it for me?
