i'm applying...i don't know when we find out though. i hate waiting!
any previous recipients on here? any knowledge would be helpful :-)
i don't even know how many ingram scholars are selected. also, are grades/SAT a big factor or is it more focused on community service? what do you know about it, buffalo?

I applied too - I believe they meet in mid-January to determine the 30 or so candidates invited for interviews, and I think they end up selecting about 10-15 of those for the scholarship.

hey everyone

they sent out semifinalist notifications today via email

^did you contact the Ingram Scholarship committee?

I'm one of the 36 Semi-finalists!!!!!!!!

AHHHHHH I'm so excited! Out of 600 applicants!!!

Would you mind summarizing your community serice involvement?

I'm a semifinalist, too! Congratulations GetOuttaBuffalo!! So...phone interviews now?

ahh i'm so nervous for the phone interview. we need to kick it! i wanna come to nashville so bad to interview on campus. i neeeeeed this. ahhh. where ya from? PM me and we can chat! what kind of volunteer stuff do u do?

i'm stoked :] i'm a semi-finalist as well!

does everyone else have a phone interview? i was contacted by a current ingram scholar and i'm actually having a personal interview. is this normal?! it's so soon too. my interview is this friday.

congrats and good luck to everyone!

me too, avant. mines an alum of the program. mines friday too. it goes from us 36 down to 20 for campus interviews.

just finished my interview with two current Ingram Scholars. it seems like such an incredible opportunity.

ag -

do you mind telling us what kind of quesitons they asked you? did you talk about the requirements of the program? and did you talk about vanderbilt or mostly the ingram? how long did it last?

it was actually more informal than i had anticipated. the interviewers were super friendly and they genuinely seemed interested in what i had accomplished. they had my Ingram application with them and i could actually see that they had taken notes and highlighted and underlined various aspects of my application. they asked me about my major community service involvements and stuff like that. we talked about both the program and the university. it was about 45 minutes long.

good luck AG and thanks!

thanks! did you try out as well?

any other things we should be prepared to talk about specifically?

ps. thanks for having the class to share some info with your "competition" lol

oh np. just be yourself. they wouldn't have chosen you if you weren't the cream of the crop. it was actually 36 out of 650 applicants. so, again, congrats and good luck.

just had mine. yea, really friendly, calm, just trying to find out more about u as a person. no need to worry, what will be will be.
