Anyone else been getting letters from colleges?

Well, I have not yet applied for any college but I have been consistently getting mails from universities both via e-mail or house mail.

Is this happening to anyone else? Does the letters mean that the universities are interested in me?

this normally happens annoys a lot of people..for about a couple of months i got nonstop emails and at least a couple a week from some colleges...Now i dont check my email and we moved recently and yay!!! They dont even know i moved IT was getting on my nerves my class mate just started getting them about a month ago to...IM liek how do u stand it??

I know, it's really annoying. They keep sending me e-mails until I finally given up deleting and accepted their information booklet or something.

It's annoying, it's exciting, it keeps timber companies in business.

But right now, waiting on admissions decisions, there is nothing. And it feels really strange to get the mail and not have anything college-related.

yes. did you take the PSATs? thats why.

Really? But on the PSAT answer sheet thing, I marked "No student search" or something like that. I didn't even put my postal code or anything! It's still weird that they are sending me stuff.

I guess I am happy in some way b/c it shows that colleges are interested in me, right? And the colleges that send me letters are not bad too.

Yeah, anyway...

"And it feels really strange to get the mail and not have anything college-related."

Yes, that's my problem too. After half a year of trying to stem the violent stream of incoming from WUSTL, I'm begging for mail from even my local community college....I'M IN WITHDRAWAL!!!!!!

Oh well...18 days till Duke's decisions...

i get about 5 letters a day and 10 emails a day.
and all of the colleges suck or i've never even heard of them.

everyone gets letters, whether its because of the PSAT/College Search Service, or NACAC. This normally means nothing, because many colleges mass mail thousands of high school juniors. (the usual suspects are schools like Washington University in St. Louis, Drexel, Brandeis, etc...) The mail will continue to be mailed en masse until january/february of senior year, and then will lessen until the majority of your college mail will be acceptance and financial aid letters.

lol, really? You are so right. I've getting letters from Washington U in St. Louis, Drexel, Columbia, Oberlin, Loyota university(?) and some others that I've never heard of.
