I can't stand it when somebody tells me they went to their state school. It makes me assume they are less intelligent and not motivated and are just flowing with life.

God I hate it when people get all excited over an acceptance to a school with a 75% acceptance rate.

Why can't these people try harder in life and stop being so darn stupid?

Grrrrrrr… One of the colleges I’m considering is Bowling Green State University. Yes they have automatic rolling admissions if you have a certain GPA (like 3.0.) Yes they have a high acceptance rate of 80%.

Yes it’s still a good college with a great atmosphere and great people. They have one of the best teaching programs in the country: student teaching in your FIRST SEMESTER of your freshmen year.

No not everyone who goes to a state school is stupid. The Ohio State University has a great pre-med and mechanical engineer program (yes I’m aware that obviously HYPSM is better, but who cares?)

tl;dr: It doesn’t necessarily mean you are going to make more money than someone, but you shouldn’t care solely about money. Sure you need money to survive but don’t love it. Loving money = nasty

EDIT: Yes a lot of people including me that are considering colleges like that are stupid. Yes we are inferior to you. No we don’t care.

University of Texas, University of Michigan, University of Southern California, University of Florida, those sound like “stupid, unmotivated people” colleges, because theyre state colleges and everything and state colleges are stupid…

Florida is your example of a great state college? And USC - the school that always has and always will have no greater selling point than it’s a private school?

^ Alright, to be fair Florida isn’t exactly BAD, either. You can argue that it’s better than my state’s flagship which I might go to for its Pharmacy program…
