no
my parents never told me what to do

@DB
But if she listened to her father, based on your last post that would make her…a nerd. If you feel the need to ■■■■■ at the very LEAST don’t contradict yourself…though you could just for the amusement of us all :D

Yes, a good ■■■■■ has to have principles. Really you should have suggested I punch my father in the face.

Ahh but you see, it’s because it’s a girl. DB is clearly very very sexist… so what’s okay for him isn’t okay for the opposite sex. Note how he called her “little girl?”

Right, of course. I forgot DB is also a sexist ■■■■■.

^It’s hillariously offensive - don’t you just love the other post about the poor guy whose love-interest hasn’t called him back and DB’s advice is basically “she needs to bend to your will and be patient for you to get your degree, I HAVE SPOKKEEENNNN!” (no offense to the OP of the other topic)

ginab, I’m not a sexist ■■■■■. I’m just concerned about your reckless behavior.

“I now often leave the house at 9 or 10 and return at 3… She realizes this means I’m drinking.”

Your father doesn’t want you becoming the black sheep of the family by going drinking at shady nightclubs and hooking up with losers. He wants you to be with a decent guy like me so that you can have a good life.

Just listen to your father. He’s trying to help. :)

Thank you so very much, I must away to a hospital… I think I just inhaled a dangerous amount of soda into my lungs from laughing so hard. I’ll be sure to send you the bill.

DB, I admire your ability to misquote.
My mother realizes I’m drinking when I call her to tell her I’m spending the night somewhere. This is to avoid driving drunk. You conveniently left that out of your quote.

My father has major control issues and the only reason my mother hasn’t divorced him is that he lost his job and can’t afford to move out until he has a new one. His sisters and parents have been told what’s going on and have all sided with my mother. So he has made himself the black sheep, if we’re going to use such an outdated and ■■■■■■■■ term.

But decent guy like you? I’m lucky I wasn’t drinking or eating anything when I read that.

It sucks! This was one of the reasons that I only came home my first summer in college. I also found that I had changed as a person and that all of my old friends were exactly the same.

I am lucky enough that my parents pay for my college, and i talked them into letting me go to different schools every summer as a transient student. I learned to scuba dive at Ole Miss, studied wine tasting at SMU, and this summer I am studying paleontology at U of Montana, should be fun.
