I did. I'm surprised I even got waitlisted (I got comparatively low grades all junior year in math and science).

My Stats:
Gender: Female
Location: Southeast
School: Private prep school
GPA: 3.4 (unweighted)- that's pretty low I guess, but my school offers more rigorous courses than most publics
SAT: 1390
Extracurriculars: Editor of school paper, editor of literary magazine, piano, violin, swimming, volunteer at church, Amnesty International, mulit-cultural club (and those are ACTIVE memberships, not cheap space-filler to look impressive on college apps)
APs: Only three: foreign language, English and Euro His.
Teacher Recs: foreign language teacher and English teacher (got straight A's all year in both their classes)

Congrats to those who got in... but anyone who got waitlisted like me?

And to those who might know: I'm guessing that the chances of waitlisters getting accepted is pretty low?

Well, I got waitlisted too. At least you weren't denied. (Secretly inside I'm thinking don't go onto the waitlist so I get a better chance please!!!) Anyhow... I'm a male Asian living in Georgia, been born a U.S. Citizen, currently public schooling, 4.0 GPA unweighted (no AP classes, 2 gifted classes), SAT - 1170, ACT - 28 Math 25 Verbal, ECs - Chess Club 11th... very crappy compared to yours and the guy that got rejected... I'm a little oO;;...

Anyhow, yeah their rates of acceptance from the waitlist is not even half of the acceptance rating from the regular pool. I'm dying to get into GA Tech for personal reasons, and waiting until after May 1st is killing me! I don't want to waste $200 admissions deposit somewhere else if I would get the acceptance here later... but then I have to take the risk since I want to go to GT anyway... :(

Thanks for wondering PEALS-05, I was checking my regular e-mail today when I got a suspicious "GT Waitlist Update". I was ecstatic and immediately opened it (ignoring e-mail address, friends e-mails, spam deleting, etc. which usually came first). I read the first 2 lines... Please do not reply... skipped to the next few lines and it read "Congratulations on your acceptance to Georgia Tech!"... I was like... wait... this can't be true. IS IT!? I freaked out, I could have sworn I lost two or three pounds jumping all over the place and telling everyone I knew... (Well it was not that many people... I read the e-mail around 9:00) And definitely I am accepted... the last thing I'm waiting on - Financial Aid. How the heck am I going to pay for Room/Board? lol...
