I'm very cheap, I hate to spend my money. I was looking at some designer clothing, and loved some of the stuff. But looked at the tag and said no way. The issue is, if it were my parents money I would've got it. But with my money no way. I decided to not ask my parents for money anymore. Since then, I've wanted so many things, and for some reason I love expensive things. But I refuse to spend my hard earned money. For example, I had $500 dollars given to me for my birthday. One Friday, I was in school and had no money but the $500 given to me. I had two options spend $5 on lunch or starve till I go home. I starved till I went home. Everyone who knows me, knows how cheap I am. And living in NYC makes it worse, I just found out that McDonalds is more expensive here than any part in the country.

who gave you 500 dollars?

What designer clothing

We’re the blessed ones.

I’m kind of cheap…but only because I’m not rich I have to always economize stuff…and decide what I need and don’t need…since I feel bad if I ask my Mom for money. Whenever I go out I always check the price tag on items…then I have to decide (im extremely indecisive) if I have enough money, need it, and will i have enough money leftover for other stuff and so I can get home.

I’m also very careful about buying expensive items…I tend to splurge on stuff that’s a good investment, high in quality, won’t go out of style for a while.

I’m pretty stingy about spending money, but I think if you get a job you won’t be as much, do you think it’s a bad thing that you’re extremely stingy ?

I’m cheap.

I still wear clothes from 7th grade. The majority of my wardrobe is free stuff and/or from Salvation Army.

I work three jobs, and yet I still never seem to have money. It’s because I like to splurge on eating out :(.

Yea, I always check the tab and its stuff I love but I refuse to spend $200 on a cardigan.

@My mom did.

@All the clothes at Bergdorf Goodman, but every once in while you can find something nice and reasonably priced.

I always splurge during the summer. Dang. Once my friend said she spent $1500 on back to school crap and the teacher made fun of her. But I spent about $1200 this summer on shoes alone, now that I went back and looked at my bank account.

I wouldn’t spend $100 on any item of clothing

My parents have been giving me $10k/year for my tuition, and they leave the rest to me. My tuition (w/ dorm but no meal plan) has been on average $15k/year for the past 4 years. I have been working small jobs to pay for books and food, so that I can graduate with only $5k/year ($20k total) in Stafford Loans. Funny thing is, I’m about to graduate with zero debt. In retrospect, I think I’ve spent less than $500/year on food and books together. I must have done so to have saved $20k in 4 years…

But yeah, I’m very cheap. Ramen, scrambled eggs, and pancake diet for the last 4 years.

And **** you guys who have the money to spend hundreds like that on useless things, especially when it’s not your money. I guess you’ll learn, though.

Congratulations. I’m graduating with no debt either. what the are stafford loans

This is an example of an idiot.

^Uhh no, I wasn’t. That $5 on one item in lunch is barely food. Lunch in my school si very expensive. So expensive that all the students boycotted the lunch, and what the school did was bring the fries down by a quarter. Its not me being stupid. Who the heck spends $5 on a small hamburger.

^

I would if I didn’t have anything else to eat. Your health is a lot more important than money. At the very least, you could of gotten food from your friends.

One sandwich for one meal on one day != health.

Why don’t you just pack a lunch from home?

So much cheaper.

I’m so cheap, I just eat my friends’ leftovers.

Yea I started packing lunch, but things that don’t need to be refrigerated. I’m not to big on the traditional sandwich since I hate bread.

Fruit, peanuts, etc. are all good and healthy. I am not one for big meals though so snacky foods work fine for me.
