I have not yet received an email or an eli account number yet. Has everyone else gotten theirs? Should I be worried? The common app shows that Yale downloaded the app and supplement - so what's up?

You don't get it in an e-mail. You get in through snail mail.

i submitted my application in late December (the 27th or something like that) and a few days ago I got an e-mail saying that Yale has received my application and that the eli account number will be sent via snail mail.

Was the email from Yale or the common app? I never got anything from Yale.
thanks

I got one from CommonApp right after I submitted the application, and one from Yale a few days ago. This is what it said:

Greetings from New Haven.

This message is to let you know that your application to Yale has been
received by the Admissions Office and entered into our database. Thank you for the application!

Please watch for an important additional application acknowledgment letter you will be receiving in the mail. It contains your 'Eli account' ID and PIN for access to the website where you can check on the completeness of your file and, eventually, learn your admissions decision. (If you have not paid your application fee or applied for a fee waiver, that will be reflected on the application status page. You will need to take care of this before your application receives further review.)

Due to the high volume of mail we receive at this time, we are not able to
answer specific questions about the status of each application. You will find a link to the application status page on our website at Welcome to Yale College, Office of Undergraduate Admissions. We will send another notification when your application is complete.

Thank you for your interest in Yale, and best of luck with the application process.

Sincerely,

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions
Yale University

Piratemonkey, thanks for the info. I never did get that email. Can I ask when you submitted your app?

no prob! I submitted my commonapp around december 20th and yale downloaded it on the 27th. I submitted my yale supplement on dec 28th and they downloaded it on the 29th.

Thanks - now I am really worried. I submitted mine just before yours and I have heard nothing from Yale. The common app says that it was downloaded though. I think I'll send an email to admissions.
Wish me luck.

Wow, I didn't get their email either. Makes sense though. I'm assuming they reviewed my stuff, thought "....oookay, what just happened?" and decided to pretend they never got anything on the first place for the sake of humanity. Yay!

hahahaha i doubt it :)

if it was downloaded, i wouldn't worry about it. I'm also international so maybe i am somehow in a different pool? Who knows?

I am international student and I got the that particular email couple of days ago.
