Anyone else play Minesweeper?

I’m playing it now :P

Won on Intermediate in 121 seconds.

To be honest, I don’t see the fascination with this game. Nevertheless I decided to give this game a try once again.

Custom: 2 seconds.

:P You set it to huge map and 10 mines, didn’t you?

Dimensions: 24 x 30 Mines: 10. I guess.

imma try to get 1 sec and then post back here.

Man, that game is addictive.
Best times withheld to protect self-esteem.

I haven’t played it in ages, thanks to the Internet, but when i first found it years ago, I did click around wildly and give up. It took me a couple of seconds a few years later to understand, and then it became my new Solitaire.
And then I stopped. :]
The defeat of losing on Hard after several minutes of painstaking thought and deliberation was too much for fragile me.
Now I youtube all the time.

Friend has too much time on her hands.

^ I don’t get it?

^Do you know how to play Minesweeper? If not: The number represents the number of mines in the squares around the numbered one.

^ hahah wow. ok.

Beginner: 2 seconds
Intermediate: 27 seconds
Expert: 61 seconds

Yeah. It’s bad. I know.

i get really ****ed off when I fail after i work at an intermediate or expert one for like 5 minutes lol and then i hit a bomb…

What’s with the huge intermediate/expert disparity?

I actually have no clue. I don’t know if it’s my hand tiring out over the bigger playing field or some psychological thing (like me getting bored?).

Beginner-6
Intermediate-55
Expert-140

approx.

Minesweeper got me through many of the dark days of essay-writing. :D

I have a philosophical question for you all. If it is impossible to determine the location of a specific mine, i.e. there are two mines left in the four squares in the corner, should the location of the mine be randomly set, should you lose the next time you click, or should you win the next time you click? I don’t know how to phrase that, but it’s bugged me for a long time.

^the location of the mines are set at the start of the game, so in that situation you have to put your guess-fu to work.

Not necessarily.

In pre-Vista Windows, if your first click was on a mine, that mine goes to the first square – the upper left corner square. So, if that was the case, the upper left corner square would be a mine.

Or if you know the cheat, you could always do that ;)

But your expert time is much much better than your Intermediate time.

New times

Intermediate - 48
Expert - 162
