Okay, I have the kind of parents like to proclaim how academically astute they used to be while in school. I wouldn't say they're bragging but I guess they're just saying all this for me to buckle up. Whenever I ask other people about their parents, they say the same thing. Now I wonder, if everybody's parents used to come first, who actually came last!!!?

My parents decided I was smarter than them (for the most part) by the end of middle school...

My father didn't go to a top school (well, not top in the US...he went to one in Canada, which is quite famous). My mother did attend an Ivy League school, but isn't pretentious about it. She justs wants me to enjoy whatever I study in college. Interestingly, my Dad brags about his kids to other parents all the time...it gets really embarrassing!

Oh, and my parents both agree that I worked harder in high school than they ever did in college...or in law school!

Seriously, be thankful - it's better than the other end of the spectrum.

my dad always tells me "you should be proud of your mother, she graduated with honours in med school"

my mom says "you should be proud of your father, he graduated with honours in med school"

...im taking shakespeare and my mom was a english major and all she talks about is how much harder it was when she took shakespeare in college ...adn she was like ..oh our books were so much bigger...well duh...its college...im taking a semester of high school shakespeare!

My parents did the same thing as Lablondie's. They decided I was a giant walking brain when I was around 12.

I'll be the first to go to college in my family, so they pretty much push me and say stuff like, "Oh, you could have done that in 3rd grade", like I'm losing intelligence. Kinda funny, actually.

.-_-.

my parents both went to grad school and always tell me about how "it was so much harder back then."
logic never works against them. for anything.
then again, they're asian.

i resolve not to be like my parents when I have children. seriously. i would kill myself if i treated my future kids like my parents treat me.

How exactly do they treat you?

My dad is a car salesman. My mom is a furniture saleswoman. Nope, no pretension here.
