Anyone ever heard of the Talented Youth Summer Program @ HKUST

Talented Youth Summer Program 2008

I just received a full scholarship (I cover my own airfare, but I live in Thailand...pretty close to Hong Kong...so no big problem) to attend this program, but I'm not sure how good it is. Tried searching for discussions about it and found no results.

I'm basically deciding between doing internships and community service or attending this program. But the thing is, I don't even know how competitive this program is, or how it compares to my first choice summer programs, like SSP or Oxbridge. The website seems to be fully devoted to the academics portion of the program...few extra curricular activities mentioned...so I'm a bit worried here.

All I know now is:
- HKUST is the largest technological institute in Hong Kong
- It's ranked 53rd best university (global) in the THES 2007 (just to give you an idea, Dartmouth ranked 71st, NYU 49th, Brown 32nd)...and 23rd for technology
- Some of the classes are taught by Stanford professors
- HKUST's "world class" biotech lab will be open for participants

What do you guys think? Worth a try?

bump..anyone please?

It looks interesting, but before you posted about it, I'd never heard of it (not surprising, considering its location). It definitely seems legitimate, and the scholarship would make it seem very attractive, I'd imagine. Sounds like you have a number of good options.
