Anyone familiar with Coca Cola Scholarship?

yeah! all of mine received! at least I know they have it.

Anyone else's app showing as "not received" still? I sent it by priority mail, so they should have gotten it a while ago...

My daughter's school mailed it on January 4th and it still says that nothing has been received for her as well. I have been wondering how long to wait before she sends an email. Hate to be a pest.

I would relax a little. The coke people are quite understanding about mail times. They are also easy to talk to on the phone. We were there two years ago.

infamousx and palermo -

If you are like my daughter, the waiting is really difficult after writing those essays and filling in the fiddly forms. The thought that the package might be lost is a little sickening, isn't it? You have my sympathy.

As of yesterday, the Coca Cola people were still logging the documents in (my daughter's and MM07's were marked received then). Give it a few more days. I bet you'll hear soon.

And you can call if you can get to a phone during school hours (if not, I'm sure they would understand if a counselor or parent called on your behalf). There was a toll-free number in the letter.

I just checked and it looks like everything has been received. Thanks for your advice!

^^^^^

Same.

Thanks bandit_TX and Grace: The website shows her forms have been received. I would have preferred to mail other than regular mail, but our school does not share the profile with students or parents, so they wabted to mail the package for my daughter.

Palermo- My daughter had to take the envelope to the counseling office, where they added the school documents and recommendations to the forms she had already put in the package, sealed it, and then handed it back to us since it had to go express mail (due to the holiday delays in getting materials from the school) and they don't do express mail. I was glad that they trusted us to do the mailing, but it sure was a lot of running around. Sounds as though you went through a bit of stress, too.

Oh well.

Seems as though everyone's documents are in and accounted for and now the kids just have to wait a month and see what happens. I'm glad things appear to have worked out thus far.

To all those who helped us over te last month: Again, thank you.

And lots of good luck to everyone.

do u guys have any idea when we'll get a decision on our status?

end of February

i think they are going to announce the finalists soon: they took the semifinalist/finalist page off of their website.

sadly, i rushed my essays, so i think my chances are poor :/

Who didn't rush their essays?

Coca-Cola has awful deadlines. First 10/31, a day before EA/ED for many college apps, then 1/12, in the middle of RD apps. My essays were cliche. I spent so much time filling out the activities section because I kept switching the order of my activities and then had to do the whole sheet over again.

i agree...the deadlines were tight, especially with the flurry over the uploading...but hey, that helps weed out the less serious, i guess...anyway, if anyone hears something, post!!! i'd rather know one way or the other and be able to move on...
crossed fingers for Atlanta!

I need the money... :(

I googled Coca Cola Finalist and saw that they announced 2/13 last year. Wow, I didn't realize it was this early. Good luck everyone!!!

I didn't advance at all, but I commend all you guys...that was the longest scholarship application ever haha.

good luck though.

The worst thing about the Coke timing is the weekend in Atlanta that falls right in the middle of accepted student visits. D flew into Atlanta on Thursday, from Atlanta to Hartford (New Haven) on Sunday for Bulldog Days, back to Wyoming on Wednesday and to Boston the following Sunday for Harvard weekend. During that time you're supposed to decide where you'll spend the next 4 years. It's a pretty stressful period.

I don't mind personally bandit_TX, but the vast majority of CC'ers CAN ONLY HOPE to be in the position that your daughter was in last year so I don't think that it's right of you to complain at all.
