Anyone from Philadelphia? - please help, going to PA to take ACT

I really want to take the ACT test in september for various reasons. However, as many of you know, it will not be given in NY and some other states, so I am planning on taking the Amtrak train from NY to Philadelphia so that I can take the test ASAP. Driving is not an option because I don't have a car and couldn't find anyone to take me there. After I arrive at the 30th street station in philly, I have to find a way to get to temple university( the test center). Does anyone here know the best way to get there--is there any bus or train going in that direction? And is there a nearer test center to the 30th street location? I did not want to take a taxi to temple university since the cost of the trip would be too high(about $120 plus the act fee). But I can do that if it is my only resort.

ALso, what is the best time to arrive in order to take the test? Does the act start at 8:00 like the sat?

Any comment is appreciated.

Did you just what time the earliest train arrives?
They can run late sometimes.
Maybe you should leave the night before.

The earliest arrives at 5-6am. Do you know what time the test usually begins?

And is anyone here going through this as well?

Test starts at 8:00, and you need to get there a little early--like by quarter till--to check in and get settled. Temple is the closest test center currently posted. There's public transportation maps for Philadelphia at www.septa.org.

When you get your admission ticket, it might have a phone number to contact the test supervisor, who should be able to advise you on transportation. If there isn't a phone number, you could call ACT to try to get one.

I'm considering going down to PA, not sure though.
