Anyone from texas?

I was wondering if anyone of ya’ll that are going to ohio state is from texas.

i’m from the dallas area myself x]

Nice WoW server by the way ^^. I am from San Antonio. I will be there next week!! I have been in the military for sometime and i get out next week. Got accepted to Ohio State and i can’t wait to start school in September.

niceee

oh hah yea, i played on that server back during my wow days xP

Me, but I’m deciding between Texas A&M and Ohio State! I just got the National Buckeye Scholarship and Trustees Scholarship from Ohio State so that makes it a little more tempting!

a&m is a good school. strong alumni, good engineering/agriculture program… awful campus. Was the worse visit for me out of my four school visits.

Ive been wanting to go to ohio state since 9th grade hah, Lord willing i’ll end up going there.

anyone know how cold it is there? like how many months i need to wear a big jacket out of the year?

darkspearwow

What do you consider cold? :stuck_out_tongue:
The weather in Ohio is unpredictable. This past fall was so wacky. It would be 85 one day and 55 the next.

This morning it was -1, which is pretty cold for Ohio (or anywhere).
Jan-February it’s usually below 32 the whole month, normally ranging in the 20s. It was 60 degrees on New Years Eve, though. As long as there is no windchill, it’s not bad at all.

I’d say Dec, Jan, Feb, and part of March are really the only months you need a big coat. If forty degree weather is too cold then maybe up until April. You can get away with wearing a jacket and be fine. I just wear my big coat if I go snowboarding or something, but if you’re not used to cold weather, you’ll definitely want it haha.

Yeah I am currently in Germany, well for another week at least. Ohio’s weather is comparable; unpredictable and cold between the months of December and February. All other seasons are nice enough to wear shorts if you have some kind of cold weather tolerance.
Here is a link that shows the average weather throughout the year. [Columbus, Ohio Climate, Temperature, Average Weather History, Rainfall/ Precipitation, Sunshine](http://www.climatetemp.info/usa/columbus-ohio.html)

BTW, what are all of you guys majoring in? I am going to dual major in International Studies and either Arabic or Chinese.

thanks ya’ll, being from texas i was wondering how much of a difference it was. We have cold months down here too. Right now it’s around 47 degrees. anything below i’ll want a jacket. and below 35 probably a big one. im not a big fan of cold… dry skin :(

oh and i plan on majoring in international studies/japanese
i might try some classes in political science, see how i like it since ohio state has one of the best political science programs

Sweet! I am dual majoring in International Studies and Chinese. I guess we will see each other in the future!

sure thing, hah i’m chinese btw. maybe i can help you on that if we meet ;p

Sweet! I can’t wait but I am curious as to how fluent in Chinese I will be with only 4 years of study. I know it’s a real hard language o learn but I am up for the challenge. xD

i not gonna lie, chinese is probably one of the most difficult languages in the world to learn because of not only the different tones, but also characters. i’m not even really fluent, im only a mediocre speaker. But if you concentrate and are determined to learn it, then you should be fine. I’m just not really interested in it xD
