Anyone get accepted to NASS? What days does the admission board meet?

Has Anyone been accepted to NASS? Also, What days does the admission board meet?

I would love to know the answer to this.

Navy is NOT quick [historically] when it comes to SS responses. It’s been a while, but I recall that it may have been late March or April before the acceptances went out. But that was a long time ago.

Admissions board typically meets on Thurs. but that may have changed and is probably subject to change depending on availability of members.

Well, just goes to show you . . . .
Admission letters are out; postmarked 2/18

Are all the Admission letters out, or just a first wave?

Just to be clear: I am not referring to admission letters to the NA [although those are going out also]. I am referring to letters going out for admission to Summer Seminar.

I don’t know if “all” have gone out. I doubt it. Most likely a “first wave.”

which section were you accepted in?
SEction 1 is during June 4th.
more question, go to [Naval Academy Summer Seminar](http://www.usna.edu/admissions/nassselected.htm)

I got accepted for section 1

I just got my letter in the mail today, admitting me for session 2. It was postmarked March 2nd.

Son just got in for the third session. Surprised at the quick turnaround, but now you have to pay within two weeks!

What sort of SAT/ACT scores, class rank, and extracurricular activities did your son have?

What sort of SAT/ACT scores, class rank, and extracurricular activities did you have?

30 ACT, top 25% in class (3.7 unwt, 4.0 wt), 3 varsity sports, part time job, NHS, a couple of leadership roles in clubs.

Hello,
I applied late (march 1st) to the summer seminar because i was waiting for my ACT scores to get in, and i am worried i will not get in due to missing the Feb. 1st opening. I ended up getting a 34 ACT composite, and i have a 3.8 weighted GPA, part time job, some community service, received a varsity letter in swimming freshman and sophomore year, and swim club 22 hours a week. do i still have a shot despite my late application?

Hello tkelly74,
My son applied on Feb 28 and received the acceptance letter today (dated March 8). He seems to have similar stats than yours (33 ACT from couple of years ago, 220 PSAT) with 2 varsity letters (swimming and football) but zero community service or leadership. So, I am guessing you still have a very good chance.

Thanks cyclist64, thats definitely comforting

I did :]

Session 1. You should receive your decision letter soon.

Hey i Applied Late, I saw a few others did.
I heard from a good source that they are going to be sending a second or third wave.
Has anyone gotten an acceptance recently?, like the past week or so.
Let me know!
~NASS 2011 Hopeful

If I haven’t received an acceptance letter yet, do you think I should just count on the fact that I didn’t get in? I mean my stuff wasn’t bad… 3.9 GPA, 183 PSATs, lots of ECs, captain of hockey team… Just looking for some opinions…

Nah, martin94, dont lose hope, I have been talking to some big Navy guys, and they said a lot of people will find out in mid April, and people that dont find out by then will usually get regected by May 1st.

Good Luck, and where from? location has a lot to do with it.

Hey,

Thanks Methacton. Good to know theres still hope. I’m just dying to know. I’m from MA. 15 mi north of Boston.
