FLstudent i'm in your shoes i applied in early september and have been deferred since all I can do is wait but its nerve racking because I dont have the most competitive stats :

I made a 29 on the ACT. I have a low GPA though. 3.48 weighted. 3.42 unweighted.
I have been in the Gifted Education Program since I was in 1st grade though.
I am OOS (Mississippi). I was VERY fortunate to have been accepted, in my opinion.
I think it had to have been my ACT score, my essays, or my plenty of years of community service that did the trick.

I wasn't deferred first.
It said that they were still reviewing everything for over a month.
But then one day, just switched to ACCEPTED! :)

Best of luck to everyone!
Now all of my worries are for scholarships.
Don't qualify for financial aid or any state-based scholarships.
This is going to be NERVE-RACKING!
God help me. :(

congrads Karlea!
im in your shoes right now.
that's exactly what's happening to me right now. it's been that status for almost 3 months now...so hopefully i will end up like u :/

i wasn't aware that i had to reset my password and now i can't log on.
any tips?

Thanks so much, FLstudent. Yeah, I hope you do get admitted. Good luck! :)
Just paid my $200 enrollment deposit today.
Now I have to pay the $250 for the housing deposit.

But I DID get offered $12,200 in scholarships from the school today! :)
(Yet, with personal expenses, room & board, etc. it will be about $30,000/year!)
So I really do hope that I somehow have more coming my way!

$30,000 a year?? How did you come up with that? It will be more like $17,000 a year.

Out of State Tuition alone is over $17,000

Sorry, I skipped over the OOS part.

anyone else got in recently?
because its been 3 months and i still havnt got anything back yet :(
im scare :/

FLStudent- Have you tried contacting UCF?

FLStudent09: I submitted my application 1/30/2009, and no decision received here yet either.

You should definitely call and ask to speak to an admissions counselor. Ask for them to physically pull up your information and make sure everything is there and ask when they might be making a decision.

Or you can email admissions. I prefer email over phone.. that way I can get out all my thoughts without forgeting anything. They respond right away as well.

To anyone who has waited more than a month, you should call UCF. If you haven't been accepted after about a month they may be missing information because sometimes stuff gets lost or electronic transcripts don't send properly. It could also mean that you are being deferred or maybe rejected because they UCF is usually pretty quick in making its decisions. However, seeing as how spaces are being filled up it could also be that they are being more selective and taking a wait and see approach to accept only the best for their remaining spots.

OK I got online today to check my admin status of my son and received the following message:

You will be offered admission and can choose to enroll in the summer term rather than the fall, and then continue enrollment in the fall term. If you do not select this option, you will be denied admission to UCF.
Please indicate your response below within 30 days. We reserve the right to cancel this offer if you do not respond, as summer enrollment is limited.

This is your current status. Your status is subject to change at any time depending upon receipt of new information and further review by the Admissions Committee, and may be confirmed in writing via a letter from the Director of Undergraduate Admissions. "

SO what does this mean.. He has to accept or decline the summer admission. He doesn't graduate until May 29, and the first session for summer school at UCF is May 18.

If he was accepted to Summer B, the first date of class is June 29-August 7. My D was accepted to Summer B, she graduates on June 20th, has Orientation at UCF on June 25th and 26th. We will be flying down on the 23rd or 24th. On the 24th, she will be able to move into her Summer B dorm. Other students who went to Orientation earlier won't be able to move in until June 27th.

If your S really wants to go to UCF, accept Summer B ASAP!

posting for a friend:
ok so i applied to UCF way back in october. They deffered me for better ACT scores. So I took the ACT in December and sent the scores. Ever since about the time they would have recieved the scores it says that the decision will be delayed because they are waiting to see the strength of the applicant pool. So pretty much i've been deffered twice. However that message has been on there for atleast 2 months. Do you think I should call them?

Absolutely!!! Call and ask to speak to an Admissions Advisor. Ask them when they might be making a final decision.

Thank you for your replies!
and yes i did call the school but they said that all i can do is wait because they already have all my information as listed on my.ucf.edu so i guess there is nothing i can really do at this point :/ im getting more anxious everyday and have been checking my status every few hours...i don't know what is taking so longg

Have you asked the university about the housing situation between the Summer and Fall sessions? Will the students be able to stay in the same room and leave their items during the break?
