i am not at all sure if its the same team of people who go through transfers...but my transfer was accepted so quick to college of sciences..maybe 1 week after transcripts arriving and high school stuff.

yeah my friend decided to call, but the admissions people were sort of rude and provided no information whatsoever.

FLstudent09,
i sent in my application on november 1st and was accepted on febrary 17th. in between then i called and they said i would have to just wait and that they had all my info. all of a sudden it switched to accepted and the very next day i got the letter in the mail. so don't lose hope. my weighted gpa is 4.8 and my SAT is 1270 i have about 140 hours of community service and ive been in band for 4 years. GOOD LUCK!

Hello there. this is my first post on this site. I'm so glad im not the only one. I sent my application in in the first week of january and still have yet to receive a reply. The site says they all my info and i have emailed them.

They basically told me they can send letters whenever they feel like it because they dont have a send out date. and the lady told me to " have solid back up plans" which is stupid to me because how am i supposed to have solid back up plans when i want to go to their school. orientations are coming up and i dont want to commit to another school and invest money and find an apartment to then get accepted by ucf which is my dream school. so im in a catch 22.
i already passed up UF because i got into the summer term and was still waiting for ucf.

blah i dont want to grow up = (

You say you passed up UF. Does that mean that you declined the offer of admissions already? If not, you should definitely wait until you get your acceptance decisions from all schools until you decline any offer.

Hi everyone. This is my first post and new here. My s has applied for Summer B and reading FLstudent09's posts--- you are not alone! It sounds like my s same scenario. Applied 1/30/09 and the same message has been on the site for over a month. Tried to call, but they are somewhat "curt" and will provide no real details on anticipated decisions. I keep checking daily, -- I kept wondering if there was a glitch in their system. His status says that they received his official transcripts and that he needs to request the final transcripts at the end of the school year. That's it ---generic....

florida mom.
no i didnt actually decline the offer. just mentally.
I know it sounds dumb, but i can't see my self there. (UF)
soo im waiting on UCF or im just going to the local university here ( UNF)
The reason i'm panicking is, orientation starts soon for UNF so soon it will be to late or ill end up registering at two schools.

I had applied back in October I finally got the decision in December. It took a while and the entire time I was worried, checking the website at least 3 times a day. My credentials are anything but impressive, but I got in with a 3.5 weighted GPA, 1280 SAT, and 29 ACT. I think the test scores, my extra curriculars, and essays saved me and got me accepted for the fall.

One of my friends got accepted for the summer, which was surprising as she should have gotten fall. She has higher than a 4.0 GPA, but her test scores aren't quite as high.

My best advice is to just be patient. They will tell you eventually. It seems like the people that are extremely impressive get accepted much faster (such as my best friend who applied one week after me, and got accepted 2 weeks later.) and with the rolling admissions I'm sure they have a ton of applications piled up to look over.

Hi everyone. I am new to this forum. My daughter applied to UCF back in November; she heard back from them in December requesting more information. She took the SAT/ACT twice but her scores are not the greatest. Her weighted GPA is 3.54. She has been accepted to FSU (summer), UNF (fall) and presently on the waiting list at UM. We have not heard from UCF which is practically in my backyard (making paying for college more affordable because I would not have to pay for housing). Everything the college requested was sent via express mail; they never updated their site to indicate that the material was received. It was confirmed only when we called inquiring about it. When we called they told us that a decision will come within 2-4 weeks, but as of today it has been 5 weeks and still no response.

I am getting rather nervous. Many of the colleges are encouraging signing up for orientation, but you cannot sign up until you pay the nonrefundable deposit. Most all deposits are due May 1. At this time, we are leaning on FSU (pre med track) and will be visiting the college this week (they have a special program for accepted students); but I am still holding out for UCF.

Squishy - give UCF another few weeks. When is orientation at UNF, I didn't think any of the orientations were before mid April and a lot of them have several orientations that go well into June? My first son felt the need to accept more then one acceptance (just in case) until the right one came through. They actually refunded some of the money he paid at the first school he accepted because he let them know that he was cancellation by 5/1. I'll bet you'll all hear by the second week in April.

Actually the sign up for UNF orientation reservation starts today, March 22, which is on a first come/first serve basis, so the longer you wait, less dates will be available for you to chose from. FSU sign up is already in process, the minute you are accepted and pay the admission fee you can sign up for their orientation, and I believe UCF is the same. The problem is that my daughter was accepted to the summer of FSU so her time is limited.

OKAY.. so I was just seriously getting tired seeing that "your application is currently being reviewed for the fall term".. and i was seriously expecting it again when i was checking during lunch.. and i don't know.. i submitted my application in the middle of february.. they got all of my documents by about feb28.. and i got accepted today!

i saw the big paragraph that said CONGRATULATIONS.. and i jumped up and screamed.. it was the perfect THING ever.. this adds on to my awesome week because i've just turned 18 on march20 and just got done with prom and everything good is just happening lately.

i hope everyone else gets accepted to those who want to get accepted.. it'll take some time so just be patient =) CHEERS!

Congratulations! I know the feeling seeing that CONGRATULATIONS paragraph on myUCF. D felt the same way, jumping for joy and screaming, I even joined her!

Good luck to everyone else!!

Congrats! See you up there.

While we were up in Tallahassee doing the Preview at FSU, I logged on to the computer to see that my daughter was accepted to UCF.

I just noticed my status changed today for the first time in 3 months, but it was quite disappointing...It says that i'm offered to be put on the wait-list for future consideration. I don't even know what that means??? Please help me out here and what is the chance of people getting in from the wait-list? How does it work? Thank you! :(

FLstudent09 - My D was also put on the waiting list at University of Miami. They said that there were over 22,000 applications for 2000 spots available. They told her that if a positioned opened up she maybe able to get in but she must make solid back-up plans and don't pass up other opportunities because they were not sure if a position would ever open up.

As for UCF, her original application was submitted in Nov 08, in Jan 09 she was deferred, and yesterday, after sending an email directly to the the admissions office we finally got a final answer (my conversation with the admissions office via mail took place on Monday, and we got a final answer on Friday).

My advise is this: Contact the admissions office via email, tell them exactly how you feel about their campus and how important it is to you to go there, and request a final decision. It is very nerve racking, because when I submitted the email to them, I got the feeling that I was rushing them, and their answer would be negative; but I had to know, alternative plans had to be made.

Here is the admissions office email: admission@mail.ucf.edu
Jessica Weppel, and admissions officer, contacted us directly.

P.S she was accepted for summer 09
Stats: GPA 2.8 (unweighted) 3.54 (weighted)
ACT 23
SAT math 590
reading 510

Congrats APKFLmom's D!

FLstudent09, are you also applying for Summer? Definately email admissions. I found they were more responsive that way than calling, someone will research for you. good luck and keep us posted.

Definately call/e-mail them. I applied in August, sent out all the needed documents, and didn't think about it till some friends got accepted in November and mine still was under review.

So I emailed them, and apparently my documents weren't processed(but they had the files, go figure...) Then a week later I log on, and it said I got accepted.

i got in!!!
