I wonder if UR saves all rejection letters to April 1 to send out?

I don't know but since we haven't heard of any rejections or wait lists here, I'm guessing they do. My D has not heard anything yet and when she tried to sign in to the admitted students site with the id and password she was given to check the status of her application, she received the notice that the site was for admitted students only. So I'm guessing she's rejected. I have to admit I'm surprised, she seems well qualified for U of R and her school's naviance suggests she'd be admitted. All I can think is that she didn't show enough interest in the school.

Where is the admitted students site?

yes, where??

It's on the MyRoc homepage. On the lower right hand corner, you'll see "spring open campus" inviting admitted students to come and preview U of R. If you try to register for it, you have to log in. If your login is successful, I guess it means you're in.

oh no... does that mean that I was rejected? I'm so sad

Please don't jump the gun on matters like this. I've seen this stuff on boards for several colleges - "enter your password or name in the college Internet phone book site and you'll know if you got in if your name appears." It doesn't always work. I tried it at a school from which my D had already received an acceptance letter, and the site kept telling me that D wasn't an accepted student. Assume nothing until you actually have your letter in hand.

You are right, Tranquil. This process makes everyone crazy, including parents who should know better. There are any number of reasons why a person wouldn't be able to log in and I don't want to extrapolate from one experience in any event.

I did notice that the link is gone from the homepage.

The thing to remember is that, as hard as it is for parents to wait this out, it's a million times harder for the students. I think that it's my responsibility to be as calm as possible for my D so that she can maintain her equilibrium about the whole thing. Doesn't mean that I'll be able to get rid of the enormous knot in my stomach every time I sort through the mail for the next week, but I figure that it's my job to keep it cool for her, KWIM? :-)

Again, you are right and wise besides. Calm is not really in my DNA but I'm doing my best. To all you anxious students out there, I sincerely apologize for my post about logging in. Tranquil is right, don't stress over the decision. It will be here soon enough and whatever it is, life will go on and things will work out.

As I said before, we parents should know better than to get sucked into the fray.

it's tough not to get sucked into it. I think that my son is calmer than I am and also deals with the rejection better. He is still waiting on Rochester. He has gotten into all his safety schools but has been rejected by 2 of his "reachier" ones. I feel like UR is a middle ground type of school for him.
I would almost rather him know for sure one way or another than this crazy waiting. He still needs to hear from them and one other. It's also tough when even the accepted ones don't give you all the financial decisions right away. Especially in this economy, it's such a vital part of the decision making process.
Oh well, nothing to do but wait it out, I guess.

Same here. It's tough for my D because the schools that she really wants to attend are pretty much "reaches" for her and are, for the most part, RD schools as opposed to EAs. We thought that she might have a shot at UofR because her dad is an alum and the interview went quite well. Oh well, we shall see what we shall see.

My daughter was accepted last week and the link to register for the Open House didn't work until today, so perhaps the next wave of accepts just can't use that link yet.

I checked online a while ago and there was nothing for me... but just today I received my acceptance letter, so probably just wait it out :) Good luck!

Well, my son FINALLY got his acceptance today. (we live in the rural midwest so mail is slow) but there is no word on any scholarships in that envelope. I kinda remember reading that other posters got their merit awards in with acceptance. I will have to look back through these posts.
To any who haven't heard yet, please keep the faith!

NEValu, I just got my acceptance letter today and I live in that area as well. The date on the letter said March 20--so 8 days later, it finally came! I think most people have had the experience of a week to 10 days later for receiving aid. There was no information for that in my acceptance materials, either. So maybe we can expect 10-15 days to receive it, with the mail... it's a bit frustrating! Fingers crossed for good merit aid :)

To the people who got accepted: has anything on your portal changed since knowing your decision status? For example, "ACCEPTED"

Thanks!

ditto what he said ^
BUMPP

ugh this is ****ing me off UR was supposed to be my safetyyyyy

My son's status on the MyRoc didn't change but he was able to login and register for the accepted student days on the website whereas before receiving this he was not permitted to.

^^ That should relieve everyone.
