How many OOS got rejected?
I got one today
I'm really sad :(

i feel ya.
:

i did....thought I had a SWEET "in" at the university...guess not? this blows

me too.
though, i'm also applying to UF, which is when you get down to the cold hard facts is really the same school. (i only say that cause of the journalism school, my main interest, otherwise i wouldn't make such a sweeping generalization!!) it would just be free for me cause i am in-state.

Ushdfjkl, I got rejected.
I was like crying, LOL.
Oh well, it was a big reach for me anyway.

UNC is great (I go here) but trust me its not the end of the world. UNC is ultra competitive, even when you get here. The classes are hard. So many TA's teach classes. People are jerks (some, not all).

Sure the academics and sports life are great, as are alumni connections. But its ultracompetitive to the point that its made me depressed at times when I compare myself to peers. It is stressful.

So that being said, you will get into the right college for you. UNC is still a great school in my opinion and it was the best decision because it challenged me academically, but at the same time, I spend a lot of time studying and not much time developing my emotional growth.

Dont stress too much.

Thanks so much for that encouragement. I got deferred, but am preparing myself for denial.

yeah I got rejected. I'm not really surprised at all, I'm just upset because now I have to come to terms with the fact that I have to go to michigan state next year...which I don't even want go to but its the only option I can afford =(

awething, I'm pretty much in the same situation. I got deferred from UNC, but if I don't end up getting in, I'll be Michigan State bound as well. Try not to let this get you down...your college experience is whatever you make it to be. Besides, Michigan State has some great programs, you just have to give it a chance. Best of luck to you...

woah now this is getting weird. how are there three of us that applied to UNC that will probably end up at Michigan State in this one thread???

Rejected, too...it didn't come as too much of a surprise, though. I really wanted to go there. Four years judged in 10-30 minutes. I wish they had space for more of us as I'm sure many of us would have been successful at UNC. Someone from my school was already accepted at another school that he's decided to attend but didn't withdraw his application because he just wanted to see if he could get in (and he did). We'll wind up somewhere that we'll thrive, I'm sure. It sounds like most people discover that they like their college once they get there, even if it wasn't one of their top choices. I wish this took place over the summer instead of during my senior year, though. Best of luck to everyone!

omg carolined thAT kid is a jerk... he took someone elSE's spot..... that's like some kid i know that was ED at Duke and didn't withdraw his app because he wanted to "see what would happen" that's really mean... sorry you got rejected

BEST OF LUCK TO EVERYONE!

I dont think that's mean, its called having a backup or safety. Maybe he was waiting to hear about fin aid and scholasrhips that could change his decision. anyway, once he does withdraw his app, someone off the top of the waitlist will get in.

ppl have said the same to me bc I got full ride @ one of my backups, which happens to be a place many of my friends regard as their top. they say I should withdraw so the money can go to someone else, but im still waiting to hear from other colleges. to me money is a huge factor and no decision will b made until i have all my offers laid out.

now the ED thing is a little diff bc he already got accepted to his 1st choice and cant take offeres anywhere else.

sorry to hear that u didnt get in though

oh i didn't get rejected... i just felt bad for carolined

me and my twin got accepted...but it probably helped that my bro attends

I am glad there are some people out there that feel for us that didn't get in. It was disappointing, but am happy for those that got in. The few that got in from my school applied as a safety, including the one that knew back in December he wouldn't attend. There will probably be a good percentage of people that get off of the wait list. Again, best of luck to everyone!

thanks k.elizabeth12 it's really nice to hear somone's in a similar situation. Although I hope you get in! But if it doesn't work out maybe I'll see you in the fall :)

and pistonsfan, whoa that is kinda weird!

i got rejected too. oh well even if i had been accepted i wasn't going to attend.
