i have no idea

Hi,
I still haven’t gotten my acceptance either. I applied in November, and I would say they got all my scores in by that time too. I applied for a Health Science major. My GPA is very good (In the 90s) and my ACT score is a 28. I’m pretty sure that I wrote a good essay, I am on a lot of extracurricular activities, and I asked teachers that I know would give me good recommendations… I also have a double curriculum in a private school.

Any ideas? I called the undergrad office the other day and they gave me a standard answer of “It can still come until April 1st” but that didn’t make me feel any better. I have gotten all my other acceptances, and SB is my last one.

DebDub, my son is in the same situation. I hope you both hear this week!

Thank you! You too!

Debdub - i’m pretty much in the exact same spot, the standard answer doesn’t make us feel much better, but we Will hear this week… we need to hear by april first right?

best of luck to you,
none of the people in my school have heard yet from SB btw.

Chris - is there any correlation to what school a person is in to when they would hear or it’s just a coincidence that all of the people in my school who applied to SB haven’t heard yet?.

accepted!!!

MJ, there are people in my school who have gotten their letters, and I haven’t heard anything yet

alright nik, then it is just a coincidence how my school has had it happen

Does your school use naviance? If so, you can go there, click on colleges I’m applying to, then click on Sunny Stony Brook, and if u scroll down a little, you can see how many people have been accepted so far in the school

i do have naviance and i know i can do that, but in my school out of 67 kids only 4 applied there and all of us happen to be waiting this year

In my school, 4 applied and out of those, 3 heard back already because they applied to Honors programs. I am the only one waiting because I applied to regular admissions. And we don’t have the Naviance program…

and now, it will be passover… and i can’t check for 2 days, best of luck for you guys hope we all get in by that time :D

Lol, a fifth (102) kids applied to stony brook in my school xD

My D just got a rejection email from SB. Her solar account still says her app is being processed.
We visited SB a few times, she was even invited to sit in a bio class last fall. We met with an admissions advisor on that day who told us that her grades/SAT were right in line with their guidelines. GPA: 3.3, SAT 1800/2400.
She is disappointed, SB was her first choice. She was accepted to other good schools so we are thinking it all works out for the best in the end.
Good Luck to everyone else!

I bet i’m getting rejected too. Stony brook’s admission has been really tight this year. Probably because many more people with higher stats applied.

My son got his rejection email tonight also.

On my daughters SOLAR, she received the new students tab last night but the application status still shows “Thank you for applying to Stony Brook University. Your application is currently being processed”. Anyone have this as well? Should she receive an email as well?

That’s a good sign^. It means she should be accepted.

Decision: Waitlisted

My daughter was waitlisted as well.
