accepted a few days ago

as a psych major,
3.58 gpa
2110 sat

i’m not planning on going though it was a bit of a safety for me, but congrats to all those who were accepted, and good luck to those still in process!

Don’t know when I got accepted, but I was just checking my SOLAR account and was pleasantly surprised. I applied January 2nd, so less than two weeks for my decision. I have a 3.55 Weighted GPA, (Probably about 3.3 Unweighted), 1920 SAT, 28 ACT, but probably what got me in were most of my leadership positions, URM with <20,000 income, and strong athletics. Now if only Binghamton was this quick…

“But I knew that they really wanted me”
That statement makes me feel uncomfortable, lol.

@xxLMAOxx - That “status date” is the time we added that to your file, not the due date. That means we read your application and requested your midyear grades that day. We know midyear grades don’t happen until the end of January in most cases, so just have your school send them to us when they’re available.

(That also means, though, that you won’t receive a decision until we get those and have a chance to re-review, so probably a lot closer to April 1.)

Chris

@henryb - We probably won’t have another round of admits until the end of the month.

Hey Chris, I don’t mean to steal the thread away, but do you mind taking a quick look at my thread? I’m just looking for a bit of feedback as to what it all means. Thanks. Here’s the link:

I applied EOP and they just emailed me that i was academically overqualifed and now reviewing for regular… how long will this take?

i got accepted today. 1770 sat, 97 gpa, mediocre essays,

is the solar login not workiing or is it just me?

its not working for me neither. its under maintenance until midnight EST time. im hoping that new admissions will be up when solar comes back

just about everyone that i know that applied to stony brook got their acceptances so far and i still have no response. Does this mean that i should prepare for a rejection?

LOL. No not at alll. Stony is random when releasing decisions. We are somewhere in the pile! goodluck. I predict mine will come sometime in feb.

My son got in today; his SAT/GPA were higher than some who reported they got in two weeks ago so I don’t think they are admitting all the high-stat people first, it seems random. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

they ask me for a mid year report, sadly, i fail calculus.

when did you apply to the stony brook?

I got accepted on January 24th for Psychology ^.^ , I was so surprised when I checked Solar because I didn’t expect to have a decision already. I sent in my application on Jan. 13th and they received everything on Jan. 17th, so it took less than a week. The application processing might’ve been done randomly I guess. Anyways, 1790 on SAT’s it was low , 3.8 GPA, decent EC’s , a decent essay, and an awesome recommendation letter. Good Luck!
